We are from out of town and went here to eat with my family tonight.
A few minutes after we sat down, an employee came and told us that they were shutting the food down in about 10 minutes...something they (of course) failed to mention when we paid for our food.
I wanted to make a bowl of food before they shut it down, so got up and did that, had it cooked then sat down to eat it. After eating about 5 bites myself and feeding my baby some noodles from my bowl, I noticed that the piece of chicken I was about to bite into was pink, rubbery and very raw. Further investigation showed more semi raw pieces of chicken.
I let an employee know that my food was raw and got a "sorry" before she walked off and said something to the guys who were cooking at the grill. Then she disappeared into the back for about 5 minutes and then came back and told me that they'd shut down the grill for the night, so "sorry", then she tried to offer me a coupon for two free bowls, which I did NOT want. #1, I live in another state, #2, they seriously have terrible customer service, and I never will go there again, and, #3, I'd already spent $65 for my family to eat there and I feel like taking my family back to spend $30+ even with two free bowls, is rewarding them for giving me raw food and not fixing it right there and then.
Literally, all I wanted was to eat my food, fully cooked. If they'd finished cooking my food or let me make and cook a new bowl, I would've been satisfied.
Instead I went home hungry and annoyed and hoping my baby and I don't come down with food poisoning, right before Christmas.
I have emailed the email provided and have not yet heard...
Read moreI'm regretting not having taken any photos because this place exceeded my expectations in many ways. Much like a buffet style restaurant (ugh), when we walked in, we paid for our meal at the register first. They gave us a bowl based on the size we paid for, and then we filled that bowl (buffet style) with raw/fresh ingredients. The trick here is to use the gloves/liners they provide to smash your food into your bowl to fit as much as you can, and also to pile it high because once it is cooked it shrinks quite a bit. Once our bowl was ready, we mixed up a sauce using their guidelines for various flavors. They also had someone there to help mix the sauce. After that, we took our food and sauce to the cooks who sautéed it for us in a rather entertaining way and swooped our meals into clean bowls. At their station, they had options to add an egg or shrimp. They also had procedures to make it safe for people with food allergies. Next, sides of rice and wontons were available, fountain drinks were included, as was froyo for dessert. While we were eating, the staff checked on us a few times, cleaned up our trays, and were generally helpful. We had included the tip when we paid at the beginning. The ONLY thing that left a bad impression on me was when we asked for a take out box for our leftovers, there was an extra 50 cent charge for each one. When everything else is included, why nickel & dime us over that? We were almost afraid to ask for a bag! 😅 Anyway, if you are up for a little adventure in eating. I recommend this place! The food was...
Read moreA Mongolian grill that stands above the rest. I love this place and have been a regular for years ever since it was only at Tempe. The premise is that its a Mongolian grill meaning that the customer has presidency over what goes into the bowl, how much they are willing to put in it as well as how much effort is needed to pack a bowl. Your selection is standard for meats with: beef, white and dark meat chicken, pork, tofu, cod, and shrimp at dinner for an extra fee. To go along with the bowl is a wide variety of veggies from onions to spinach. And then you have sauce recipes that you can mix to your own taste or follow the instructions above to make a certain flavor. After a bit on the iron slab your food is ready and hot. You also have access to a small rice bar with white or brown rice, soups, and wonton chips. As well as a decent drink bar with good iced tea. One other small amenity is the frozen yogurt machine that is available to kids during lunch and a dollar for adults, but come dinner, its all free game. The place isn't cheap by any means as a regular bowl at lunch will cost an adult about 14 dollars but once more its all depending on you as once I'm finished I have about enough food to feed 3 people which means, killer leftovers. This is also a great experience for kids as they are able get in there with their hands to pack a bowl keeping them engaged in their experience. So overall this place is wonderful and you should go there should the...
