UPDATED REVIEW: the very next MORNING, i received a call from the owner apologizing for their mess up. She saw my review and realized they accidentally gave my order to someone else. She profusely apologized for their mistake and for the way the manager spoke to me. She also refunded my entire meal which was nice because it wasn’t what I ordered and it was inedible. I truly appreciate her call and apologizing and making things right.
I'm usually a fan of this place and I tend to frequent it a lot with friends and family. however tonight i decided to dine out, BIG MISTAKE. I ordered a P1 with extra steak extra jalepenos and hoisin sauce and charged for. extra. What i was given was far from right. I had TWO jalepenos and ALL FAT in my pho. STRAIGHT FAT. I was charged $23 for a bowl of fat. When I called to discuss my concerns the hostess was very nice only to speak to a terrible manager. He told me and I quote " you chose to order out so the quality of service and product is different than in house". He then proceeded to tell me that to go is Pre weighed out and in house is fresh and you get more. I have NO PROBLEM with it being pre weighed my issue is when you charge $6 for extra steak and serve me ALL FAT. then tell me I should've ate in. There is NO REASON that you should be under serving your takeout customers. We are a customer and deserve the same quality of service. He then proceeded to tell me I was wrong and if I was so unhappy I could come back and he would take a look at it and he would go from there. I live over 20minutes away it is 7pm at night and they close at 8. I was not driving back there for you to see it and tell me i'm wrong. So I told him no that would not work, he said "well if you're not driving here i don't know what to tell you, eat in next time, when you what more food you have to pay". I have no PROBLEM PAYING FOR EXTRA but give me what i pay for. I will NEVER return here and it's a shame because I used to really enjoy it and came often with friends and family. Terrible...
Read moreI rarely write a review for restaurants, however, since this place bares the name of a town very close to my home town in Vietnam I'd thought I'd put in my 2 cents. While driving up here, google map sent us there but just off a little and I had a little independent in the parking lot. To most, that would have affected their reviews, but those are the fault of google maps not that of the business. As we entered, the restaurant was very vacant, but then I wouldn't expect any different for a new business on a Thursday night 45 minutes before they closed. The decor was minimalistic, but the lanterns were a great touch and very reminiscent of Asia. Looking through the menu, there were a lot of authentic dishes and some that were not. My wife and I ordered the soft-shell crab (not authentic) for appetizer and the S1 (Dry Egg Noodles) and S2 (Dry Rice Noodle) for the main entree. We ordered the S1 and S2 because those are the dishes of this region. The food came out kind of slow but that represented the freshness of the dishes. The plating of the dishes were on point and looked appetizing. The soft-shell crab was one of the best I've ever had, even compared to that of a Japanese restaurant in Japan. The S1 and S2 were very flavorful and pretty close to that of this region. The only thing that was lacking in both dishes were the liver and a small soup bowl that normally accompanied each dishes. Also the noodles in the S1 was still wet from being boiled. The main point of the dish is to have the noodles completely dry. However, I believe that the chef may have felt that the wait time was too long so he may have rushed this aspect, but the noodles of the S2 were just perfect. With all the negative things that I've pointed out, I'm still giving this establishment a 5 star because the food was almost perfect and very close to that if the region they represented, and the customer...
Read moreI’ve lived in Gilbert the past 3 years and this was hands down my favorite place to dine. Hands down. I come here at least 2-3 times a month. The food is great. I brought my sister here for dinner last week and she found hair in her food when she was halfway thru it. We informed the server, the server offered to replace it but my sister said it was fine (my toddler nephew was with us and he was tired). The server took the order off of the bill. We returned a week later, because of course we understand things happen, and like I said this is one of my favorite spots to eat at. We came in and we’re seated. A lady who I’ve never seen came from the kitchen and walked over to us and told us we had to leave because we complained about hair being in our food last time we ate there. Pause. I tried to explain that it wasn’t a big deal and we still wanted to support them and she walked off in the middle of me talking while saying they don’t want any trouble. I went to front counter and there was another young lady there who is usually my server when I come in, she said they didn’t want us to eat there anymore because the hair that we found in our food was not any of their hair. Basically insinuating that we put hair in our food so we don’t have to pay. I asked her for a manager, she declined. A man came from the back and said he was the manager and also stated that they weren’t going to serve us because it wasn’t their hair that we found in the food. Discrimination at its finest. Very poor attitudes over a $12 bowl of food. And it’s very sad that you don’t care about losing a consistent customer. I filed a complaint today. Than you for...
