I really tried to give Michaelâs a chance. Since the Joann closed in Queen Creek and I donât shop at Hobby Lobby, this Michaelâs is the closest craft store option. Unfortunately, they never have what Iâm looking for, or at least not everything that Iâm looking for. Whatever, Iâm still able to get my projects done and I can avoid shopping from Amazon. The other issue though is that their prices are insane. Their coupons and sales are a joke. Again, not the end of the world, Iâm not so naive as to expect for a corporation to respect me or my wallet. I do, however, expect respect from the employees working at the store. The self checkout situation is one thing and typically I never had a bad experience BECAUSE there was never anyone to talk to or ask for help. I would go in, grab my items, and check MYSELF out. Today though I returned to the store to shop for some items (they didnât have even half of what I needed) and to grab an item that I had paid for and not received in an online order a few days before. They acted like this was the end of the world and alluded to me stealing from them (I had $50 worth of merchandise in my hands, ready to checkout, and they could see the items on my original receipt totaling another order of $80). As the âmanagerâ removed the item from their inventory so I could take it home they scolded me for not coming in sooner to grab the missing item, or calling the store as SOON as I noticed it was missing. Maybe they should have done the order right in the first place. Plus, I live more than 25 minutes away. And why would I call when I know I need to come in to grab the item anyways? No apology and no accountability. I wonât be returning to Michaelâs again,...
Read moreAs a store, they are lovely and I wish them the best as they try to pick up the party city market, but for today when we needed a balloon order for my daughterâs birthday party, the employee who helped my adult daughter at curbside was extremely rude. The app wasnât working to check in and so when my daughter got out of her car to go pick up the item, Theresa belittled her for not âknowing how to use an appâ, and then argued that 39 balloons would not fit in my SUV, which is why I sent my daughter in that car which is picked up multiple balloon orders in the past.(Side note, they did fit.)
The balloons were individually tied off on a clip and had to be cut from the clip making short ribbons once tied off at home.
Also, one of the mylar balloons was severely under inflated.
I decided to call and just let the manager know that one of their employees was extremely rude to my daughter and as I started to explain the situation, the manager got extremely defensive and rude and condescending so I paused and said, âWait are you the employee who helped my daughter?â
She said that she was, and when I asked for her name, she continued to argue with me about how it wasnât her fault. Eventually, she did tell me that her name is Theresa and at that point I quickly enter the conversation, knowing I wasnât going to get anywhere.
If this rating was based on customer service alone, it would get zero stars. But I frequent this Michaels often and Iâve never had this situation before.
Only trouble...
Read moreI usually get lost in a craft store and enjoy the things in the store and especially today because they advertised door busters. I got into the store and asked Thomas what the door busters were and he got on his phone like he was looking them up, and I stood there waiting and he just walked off. I said i thought you were helping me, but I guess you were just texting and he said nothing. I went around the store and other employees were so helpful, asked if a organizer was on the door buster and guy said yes so we loaded up three of them that said door buster but when we got to the front and the girl asked good ol Thomas if it was on special and he said no. Another thing that was so frustrating is that I had some other things in the cart that rang up wrong and I had the cashier follow me to where the display was and showed her the sticker that was placed in front of the product and she took the sticker out and told me that someone put it in the wrong place and the price was what rang up. The girl was so sweet but by that time and dealing with Thomas and whatever he was upset about was just too much for my shopping adventure. I know people have harder days than others, but I noticed how helpful and friendly he was being to other customers. Thomas, I hope you know that customer service helps you keep people shopping at your store and location, I hope you have a better rest of your day and thank you for the nice ladies and guy who...
