The Good: The restaurant is somewhat clean, despite my girlfriend finding hair in her food.
The Mediocre: The breakfast I ordered was mediocre-average at best. Eggs were fine, biscuits were cold in the middle, gravy was lackluster with very little flavor. All in all, the food was edible, but I wouldn’t pay for it again.
The BAD: Service was pretty horrible. Our waitress was more concerned with getting us in and out of the restaurant as quickly as possible than providing any real customer service. She especially seemed incapable with making eye contact or engaging in any sort of pleasant conversation with me in particular, which myself and my girlfriend consistently noticed the complete opposite interactions between said waitress and all the other customers (which happened to look differently than me, if you catch my drift.) As soon as we received our breakfast, she flew back to our table and placed our receipt in front of us, then scurried off with not more interactions between us. She never checked in on us, asked us how our food was (or if we found hair in it, which we did), didn’t ask if we wanted anything else like she did with the other patrons. Just left.
Then came time to pay. I noticed the 2 patrons ahead of me that payed for their meals both received the typical eye contact, smile, pleasant conversation, and “thank you, have a great day” from the cashier that you’d come to expect at a restaurant. When my turn arrived, I received none of these. The cashier took one look at me, and the friendly facial expressions and body language vanished. She reluctantly and uninterestingly asked “How are you?” while turning her head completely to her right avoiding eye contact and showing just how uncomfortable she was with my presence. I told her “I’m doing well, yourself?” In return, she mumbled “mmhmm” under her breath while still turned to the right. After paying for my meal, and leaving a $0.00 tip for poor service and disrespect from the employees, I handed her the receipt, she IMMEDIATELY looked down at the very bottom to see how much of a tip I left, again, she made no eye contact with me whatsoever. And that was the end of my experience here.
Needless to say, I definitely won’t be...
Read moreI recently had a quick one night trip in Gillette, and their Perkins was the only restaurant I ate at during my stay. My family and I got into Gillette later in the evening, so we wanted something to eat, but we didn't want to venture far from our hotel. Perkins was an easy choice because they happen to be conveniently located less than a minute away from our hotel, and also, we are familiar with their menu because we have a Perkins in our hometown. With that said, everything at our dinner went really well. We didn't have to wait to get sat. They accommodated our big party with a comfortable area in the back to sit, so I was happy with that because we weren't all cramped. I emphasize that because some restaurants have a problem trying to find good places to sit big parties. The service was superb, I'd say. Our waiter was awesome. He was a really happy and bubbly guy, and that, in turn, gave us a smile after a long day of traveling. He was also very accommodating and got us whatever we needed pretty quickly. As for the food, well, I have no complaints regarding that area either. The food didn't take long to come out. There were no mess ups. Everything was fresh and tasted very good. I was just very satisfied with my experience at this Perkins, and I wouldn't mind eating here again if I'm in...
Read moreI've eaten at Perkin's all over the US and this one is in my top 3. The location is simple to get to. The parking is decent. When I stepped out of my truck in the parking lot my wife looked at me and said, "well it smells like a Perkins!". The pastry display in front made me want to buy one of every pie/pastry/cookie in there. The servers were friendly and kind. They had a great Christmas tree covered in decorations and a funny Grinch on top which my daughter loved and smiled at. The food was seasoned (some locations don't like to add salt it seems like) and everything came out in a reasonable amount of time and quite hot. I knew minutes before my food came that we were about to get served because the server brought me my syrups for the pancakes and some hotsauce/ketchup for the food. They had crayons and a kid's menu that kept my daughter entertained while we waited. And I was pleasantly surprised by the choice of music that was being played. It was EDM (electronic dance music) like if I was at a club, lol. Quite possibly one of the best Perkin's I've been to. They have my business from now on when I want breakfast for dinner or a burger for...
