If you're not familiar with Wendys, it's one of the better tasting choices for fast food. The Wendys in Gillette is in a central location and is consistent with their food quality. Because of these things, it's very popular. The popularity, however, is what leads me to knock a couple stars off.
I love the the baconator, the chicken sandwiches, and the breakfast biscuits. They even have strawberry frostys now which are pretty amazing, and the new fries recipe is way better and crispier. You basically can't go wrong with whatever you order, and their breakfast is top tier when it comes to fast food breakfast.
Because it's good, this place is BUSY. Almost all the time. I wish there was a second Wendys in town because I have (no joke) waited in the drive-through for 45 minutes; several times. The employees seem like they hate their life, and I honestly can't blame them. I would hate to work at a constantly-busy fast food restaurant. It does make the experience a little worse though. I can't blame the employees just trying to get by, it just is what it is. I will say that some of the newer, younger hires lately have had better attitudes.
I'm sure it's also because of how busy they are, but things often get missed from my order - a ranch here, a sandwich there. Last time I didn't get a chicken biscuit sandwich which was unfortunate because I bought them for several people for breakfast at work, and either go without eating as the guy who bought breakfast, or somebody else doesn't get one. I contacted Wendys through their website and they gave me a coupon to make it right, but it's still frustrating in the moment when you get to work or home just to realize you paid for things that didn't make it.
All in all, Wendys is a tasty fast food choice, and if the line was quicker and more things made it to the bag, I'd give it a better rating. If you're lucky with a short line or get all your food, you're going to have...
Read moreOn February 23, 2025 around 10pm. I order food at the Drive Thru. The lady taking my order was very polite and understanding and kept her emotions to herself although I could tell she was tired. The man working the kitchen however, was very unhappy and made sure that I knew. After I ordered my food, but before I was asked if there would be anything else or even given a total amount due. The Kitchen man, had stated very loudly and very annoyed "seriously? What are you people doing to me?!?" Again the woman maintained proper composure gave me a total and I proceeded to the window. As I got there I gave her my payment. I, politely as possible asked her, to let the man know that, half of the customers for the Gillette location had just gotten into town from work due to a fire closing HWY 59 and most of us had been actively working for 12-16 hrs and we just made it home safely from the mines and oil field locations past wright, WY. So we were just as unhappy, but that the store is open until 11pm. I understand his frustration, as I have worked fast food also. Other people, may not understand because they have only been in the mine or oil industries and they worker longer and harder. However, I also know that you keep your emotions and impolite things away from the customers buying the food to support the paycheck...

Porta-potties to the left are not bad. Continue up to that first left building, those are indoor bathrooms. Difficult to see faces regardless from what locals say. BUT right as you exit the parking lot to the main road, turn right and look up to the left. There they are! Pull over and save yourself the $10. You are literally paying $10 to spend money in their gift shop. The Mt Rushmore image is everywhere. A powerful visual of them is in the local cemetery at night. Careful. One way dirt roads with lots of deer. Go into the cemetery and go straight. There is a look out area towards the back left. Park and look back towards the cemetery. Look up and a little left. Powerful lights shine upon their faces as they watch over the cemetery. The cemetery is magical at night. Beautiful with small lights next to each resting occupant. Be...
