We went to the new Korean donut shop on delsea drive in glassboro. Mochiatsu Donut just opened up where the Mexican restaurant and Pawn shop strip.
Very nondescript decor in the store. Mostly just chairs tables, and condiments. It doesn't lend itself to really staying there. It's mostly grab and go. If you've ever been to a Korean donut shop they have most of the same donuts all the other places have. We just tried the Korean hot dogs. I got a green tea as well.
I have to say I was very disappointed in the hot dogs. If you can see from the pictures I put up, they don't really do a good job with the hot dogs. What's with half of a hot dog? The inside was not done. The hot dogs were not hot. I've had better at other places in Marlton and Cherry Hill. The thing literally fell apart as soon as I took a bite. No crunch in the coating. And the Cheetos were not really that spicy. I showed a picture of the inside. You can see that it's not done. I'm sensing a microwaved corn dog rolled in Cheeto mix. You need some grease. I didn't hear any frying going on.
I hate to say it, but this is really a one and done place. If you're in the mood for this sort of thing, I guess I would just go here for the donuts. Honestly though, if you want donuts, they're way better places in the area to get donuts.
I give this place a two out of five mostly because the hot dogs are just meh. I really wanted to like this place, because I really like Korean hot dogs. I wouldn't go...
Read moreOh man, just stop. Incredible. I must admit, I'm a bit of a traditionalist when it comes to mochi and tteok... sweet red bean paste or sweet chestnut paste, please. But I was pleasantly surprised with this modern take on a very old Japanese and Korean tradition. Very creative. Mochi, or tteok, is lightly fried up like a donut and topped with a large variety of deelish sweetness. The texture is not like that of traditional rice cake, which is sort of "marshmallowy." This is like a dense, chewy cake donut, and it is out of this world. There is no filling. The rice cake stands on its own, along with the amazing toppings. The young lady behind the counter was an absolute doll, and the owner was a gracious and hard-working individual, making our pastries fresh himself in the kitchen. And the mango iced black tea was to die for. Great people, great snacky treats, great idea. Give them...
Read moreThis place has a wonderful vibe in the decor. I love the mochi curtains, the cat on the table statue and the fun color pallete. The lady at the register was sweet, did a wonderful job at taking our orders and the kitchen staff did great too. The potatoe 1/2 hotdog 1/2 mozzarella corndog was crunchy and tasty! I tried the ube donut. It was surprisingly delicious. And the passion fruit ice tea with mango bubbles are a great combo. Overall, I enjoy my experience there. I wish this to be a successful business. ♥️
(P.S. The cheese would've been melting and piping hot if I didn't have to wait for the drive home. Still love...
