8/3/23 Third Trip! Meatloaf, Mac and cheese, scalloped potatoes, yams, and cornbread. Best damn $22 Iâve spent on a meal in ages. If you love soul food, đđ! Itâs so darn good. Healthy and whole, I just canât believe how good it is. And my service was fantastic. All three employees I interacted with had gigantic smiles, knew their regulars and treated me so well.
Enjoyed my second meal today and Iâll be back to try more soon.
High Level: This is not a formal sit down full service restaurant but the ambiance and team definitely welcomes family and friends to dine in and enjoy! The menu is limited BUT what they make is super healthy and super good. Pretty darn rare you get to those two things in a sentence together. The prices are on the higher side BUT portions are generous and what do you buy in a store that isnât expensive because itâs healthy. The food is made with a great deal of thought and dedication which costs money. End of the day Iâll gladly pay more for a dish if itâs worthy and so far everything I have had is worthy. And Iâve tried some things I would never have imagined could be this good (Vegan Beef Ribs, How do you do it!) Their concept is unique and as such will come with its unique quirks. Nobody is perfect and I wish people would really get this itâs perfect or the owners and employees are horrible mentality. That said, these guys have earned their 4.8 and the other .02 really should spend a few days working in the industry⌠they should also learn to open their mouths and speak up when human beings do human things like mistakes. The owner is such a darn sweetheart I can almost bet she would have charmed you to the other side of the spectrum before leaving⌠anyways I digress The counter service the girl with a bad review here (Precious name calling, your behavior says a lot about you as a human being Mr. 1 star) was absolutely a doll today for me. Ironically the other guy was off in some zone and not at all outwardly welcoming but he was not rude with me at all either.
I highly encourage you to try this place if your tired of the same old same old! Do pull up their Instagram so you know whatâs on todays menu before you go and youâll have a leg up!
Chef Stacy, was pleasure meeting you and your husband at the Glassboro Business Meeting. As a GM of a local restaurant, I can be overly critical of the local competition. I for one think you are a delightful addition to the neighborhood!! See ya again...
Read moreMy first time visiting. I don't know how I missed this place as it is "right under my nose" in Glassboro. So conveniently located. Beautiful atmosphere with friendly and informative service. There were several guests enjoying a dine-in option. I selected the General Tso's chkn: great flavor with a brown sauce and a small kick for flavor experience. It comes with sauteed vegetables cooked with the chicken. Sweet with a bit of spice..YES! Secondly I selected a side of salmon w/shrimp. Coated and fried gently, again with a mild sauce and flavor of herbs. Nothing I would change here as the chuncks were a good size and the shrimp nice & big-XL/jumbo in size. My sides: candied sweets, mac &ch and mixed veggies. I like that chef doesn't overcook the vegetables. They have a little crunch but that's what I want-the nutrients haven't been cooked out and the veggies retain some of their firmness. Good flavor in all 3 sides and I can be funny w/my mac&cheese. It had a some sharpness to it which gave it a more intense flavor... I'd definitely order it again. I was surprised to find a vegetable egg roll w/dipping sauce in my platter too! Nothing I tasted was overly salty. There's a variety of desserts:lemon crunch, cake strawberry crunch cake, banana pudding and vegan desserts are indicated with a green dot sticker:brownies, cookies etc. There's a vegan side to order from and a non. Non vegan for me! There was fried rice, potato salad, seafood salad and the waitress told me their menu changes. I will ABSOLUTELY recommend Oliver's Twist. I heard their fish is a top choice so I'll definitely be back....to dine in. Thank you to the staff @ Oliver's twist for a nice first experience. I have pics but this review site isn't giving me options to upload. Everything is nicely presented with vegetable garnishes to add color &...
Read moreMy wife is vegetarian and I am not. Therefore, we are always looking for a great spot for us both to be satisfied with our meals. We arrived at 1:30 pm and the woman in the front immediately explained that they were changing out trays and that she will be with us shortly. I was super excited because that meant we will be getting the freshest food that they had available. We watched them bring out new trays of food and my wife and I got excited because this was our first time there. The cook in the back was the person refreshing the trays. I heard the two ladies discuss the status of the Mac n cheese, the cook told her that it was in the oven. When I asked the cook how long it was going to be for the fresh Mac n cheese she rudely said "I don't know". I told her that we would wait and she still proceeded to state that she didn't know when the Mac N cheese would be done. The cook is rude and she should stay in the back of the area. I ordered the stuffed salmon with Mac n cheese and sweet potatoes. The salmon was over cooked, salmon should never be as dry as tuna out of a can. On a positive note, although the Mac n cheese was obviously old, it was flavored well and had me wishing that I could have had a fresher experience. My vegetarian wife ordered the Sticky beef(V) with Mac n cheese, broccoli sweet potatoes. She really liked the Sticky beef, and the sweet potatoes were really tasty. We may go back in the late future to see if we can get a different experience but I don't see us spending any money here for sometime. The cook is very rude. I would describe her but I won't embarrass you. Do better with your attitude for the culture! FYI, I still left a tip because I hate when people say that our culture don't tip. It wasn't the Front end woman's fault that her...
