Glastonbury Coffee Shop — Restaurant in Glastonbury

I was excited to be off from work today and take my parents out to breakfast. This was my first time there and my parents had enjoyed their previous experience. The food was brought out quickly and everything tasted very good. The issue...the rudest waitress I have ever encountered in my life!! The check was not itemized and was scribbled on 3 separate papers, so she verbally told me what I owed. I paid, and we left, but it struck me when I got home, that it seemed off. I quickly looked up the prices and saw that it was over $12 over. I called and was met with irritation right away. After several times of her telling me that she "undercharged me" and did me a favor for not counting an order made by my father in error, I asked for her to tell me how she was getting the prices she was, and that it was still way over even with me counting the order that was made in error. I wasn't looking for her to not charge me for the order made in error anyway. She slammed the phone down and I could hear her in the background loudly telling people that someone else needs to deal with me. She went on and on, which was so shocking considering I wasn't upset when I called, just wanted to understand the pricing. It is unfortunate because the food was good. I wish I did not have this experience to be riled up by a rude waitress who overcharged me and then treated me the way she did for no reason whatsoever, on my first day off from...

The food is great. The first time I went, I was very pleasantly surprised and loved the food and service. However I must mention that the second time around, I was absolutely appalled. I took my son with me. He is 4 years old and on the spectrum. He was crying because he wanted to play with the silverware, which he knows he isn't supposed to be doing. I was trying to calm him down and as the waitresses passed by, they were shaking their heads disapprovingly, and mumbling things about "bad parenting". I left before either of us got to eat anything. Not because of the ignorant staff, but rather because I felt bad for the other customers who didn't need to deal with his tantrum. I cried myself to sleep that night. I wish people were more understanding of how hard it is to single-handedly raise a child with ASD. I wish they weren't so...

The food here is really good and the prices are reasonable. However, the last time I ate here, my friend and I were treated very rudely by our server. She would not look at either of us and handed us our menus/food/drinks in a very angry and rude manner. I did not see her treating the other guests this way and I'm assuming the reason was because my friend was the only black person in the restaurant. She continued to be rude to us until my friend tipped her $20 (which was more than our entire meal had cost).
