Went for lunch with my wife last Sunday, and the place was empty and understandably so. This establishment has declined over the past few years. This last visit was the worst experience.
We were seated by a waitress who didn’t seem to care to be there. We asked for Cinnamon Sugar Pancake Puppies and never received it. We asked about it, she said “she forgot to tell us” that they were out of it, which is fine, we understand supply can be hard to get sometimes, but it would’ve been nice to know in advance so we could have picked something else on the menu. I don’t know if she was new, unmotivated, or poorly trained.
The food we did receive was okay at best, but the real issue was while we were waiting for our food, an older guy, who we guess was the manager came to our table. He asked us: “how would you like to have your meal for 20% off?” I asked: “how could we get that?” He said: “Well if you leave a nice review on your experience with us and about your waitress, it’s yours” I said: “sure” As I was filling out the review, he turned to my wife and said: “why the sour face?” (She was just looking down since she’s not much for social interaction.) We were both caught off guard by that, and when he noticed that we were, he said: “I’m just kidding” and tapped her shoulder. At this point I stopped working on the review and just submitted what I had written, because I was shocked and was wondering why the hell this was happening. Keep your hands to yourself, we don’t know you. We just wanted to be left alone at this point, not only because of how uncomfortable we were, but his personal hygiene was not the greatest either. We were trying our best to be polite. Shortly after he left, we received our food. As we were eating, it bothered us more as time passed. So after we left, I removed the good review. I wasn’t planning on leaving this review, but as even more time passed, it has bothered me enough to feel the need to share this experience. Avoid this location. We plan on driving the extra distance to go to another location, rather than going to this one that’s closer.
This location use to be great, and my wife and I have been coming here when we were just friends. It use to be a location that was booming with people, good food, and service. It was nice and quick, reasonable pricing too. Where this establishment is located at, there should be no reason for it to be doing so poor with business. I truly believe it’s in relation to management. There’s no sense of professionalism here. Instead of working on it and improving what’s lacking, the solution was to hand out a 20% off coupon for a quick and easy good review without truly earning it and fixing what needs to be done. It’s disappointing and needs to be corrected.
After that experience, you bet we used...
Read moreI’m giving it three stars because normally the service is extremely well. Today however was a different story. Normally I don’t do this but it actually really upset me how things were. We waited almost 10 minutes to be seated then the guy proceeded to only make eye contact with my boyfriend who was next to me asking him if it was just two, asking him if we would like a booth not considering anything that I would prefer because I had a man with me is my assumption and I make this assumption because throughout our communication with him from the moment we walked into the door he had no upfront communication with me and only talked to my boyfriend including when he asked what we’d be drinking. He didn’t even want me to tell him what I wanted to drink? He had to ask the guy? It upset me. While waiting for our food we overhear are very sweet server talking to the table next to us about how he’s a manager and doesn’t know how to serve tables, are you kidding me? The real kicker is it was my turn to pay for dinner. We wait another 3 to 5 minutes for somebody to come let us pay for our dinner and he gets up there and he apologizes for the wait while not making eye contact with us and he was saying he didn’t remember which check was ours. Then he looks up, ignores me, looks right pst me while I’m standing in front of the card reader closer than my boyfriend looks at him and ask him if we ordered matched up with the screen. Whoever made this dude a manager is out of their mind. He can’t wait tables, he can’t make eye contact with the women that come into the restaurants (that are PAYING to eat there), he can’t host well. This was our favorite location and now we probably won’t be back because the manager is a misogynistic man that walks around indoors with a cowboy hat on and is disrespectful to...
Read moreHorrible experience with this store. Placed our order online 12/28 after reviewing their current Covid dining policies. Website stated they had “Denny’s on Demand” which is their curbside service. This was perfect because we didn’t want to get out of the car and because we were driving to another county that had looser restrictions. Once there, the designated parking spaces weren’t at the store. I called and asked where the spots where and where we should park so they knew where to bring our order and was told they didn’t have the service and that we needed to pick the order up inside. We weren’t prepared for this. No mask in the car and pajamas to pick up our breakfast. We had to go to a nearby gas station to buy a mask before going in. Called corporate, left message.3 days later, No response. Had to email them. Was called 01/04 by the corporate office. Very professional and apologetic stating that 9 months into the pandemic that there was “no excuse for the staff not to be informed about the corporate policies involving curbside, Denny’s on demand”. We received an electronic refund for our purchase and were told the store manger was off but we should expect a call from her 01/09 and that corporate would instruct her to leave us a gift card for our troubles. Here we are 4 days later and we haven’t heard from the store manager, nor corporate who stated they would also follow-up with us to make sure the store manger followed through. As a customer who has dined at this location as well as the Pontoon beach and Litchfield locations, I am disappointed and saddened that this store would show such little regard for their customers. A phone call would take 3 minutes out of her day. This isn’t excellent customer service. This isn’t even customer care. You can do better Denny’s. Still...
