Joseph's Pizza — Restaurant in Glendale Heights

Been ordering from here for almost 10 years and the food and service are usually great but the last few times I have had nothing but problems. I placed an order today for a pizza , baked clams , a beef sandwich and a couple more things and was told 45 mins for delivery but that wasn't the case. After 1 1/2 hours I called to find out what was going on and why our food has not arrived yet we were told that they were down a driver and that our food had just left 5 mins ago, after reaching the 2 1/2 wait we call again to cancel at that point {cause who wants to eat pizza and clams that have now been sitting in a car for over and hour} we were then told that we would have to inform the driver ourselves that we cancelled. If you know your busy and down a driver at same point I would think that you would stop taking orders and maybe call people that have ordered and let them know whats going on and that the wait will be longer not make them wait can continue to call you to find out where their food is. The worst part about it was sending the delivery driver away knowing that it wasn't his fault and he is losing money due to someone else's incompetence. And through out all this and talking to the same person on the phone each time I called there was not an apology or ever any concern in this person voice. As much as I really enjoy the food here I have no intention of ordering from there anytime soon and I hope they fix...

This is the best pizza I've ever had. It's amazing. I've ordered at least 20 times. I always order my own (whole) pizza for pick-up or delivery, and only pizza. Never had the thin crust, as the regular crust is thin enough (its not double dough and its not paper thin).

With regards to customer service: They're people, not robots.

Pay attention to the hours. 90% of the time when you want to order, they're open, but when they're closed: they're closed. They don't have an answering machine, so the phone will just keep ringing if you call when they're closed. They close in the early afternoon (but they're open late). That's reasonable. Business is slow then. The people working there need to eat lunch too. They're closed on Mondays. That's reasonable. It's a small business. They need a day off. So just wait an hour or order another day. It's worth it.

If you call during peak hours or when the line is busy, it'll sound like they've hung up on you because they don't have a way to put calls on hold and have a limited number of phone lines. Just wait 2 minutes and call back....

Joseph’s pizza was hands down the best pizza in Illinois but since they got new owners the pizza is meh 😑 which makes me sad cuz I used to love this place. As a reply to the owner questioning my review I’ve been coming to Joseph’s pizza for 26 years before the new owners I wrote the review a year ago before I found out they had new owners I went in about 6 months and tried the new owners pizza after not eating it for a few years and realized the completely changed the recipe now it’s bland. As response to the new owners keep responding saying that I liked there sauce no I liked the original owners sauce I went to Joseph’s pizza for 25 years I grew up on there pizza I moved so I haven’t had it in awhile a year ago when i made the review it was for the original Joseph’s pizza. Then when I tried it for the first time in 4 years because I was in town the pizza tasted completely different and none of the original people were there so looking at other reviews I saw you were newly owned and the new owners changed the recipe but hey keep trying to make me a liar you lost a...
