If I could give zero stars, I would.
This was by far my worst experience with steak n shake ever. I placed a mobile order to ensure my order was accurate and that I was charged accordingly. When I went to pick up my order, there was a car in front of me and they took 2 - 5 mins. Once I got to the window my name was confirmed, I was given a bag, the drive thru window was closed on me, and the manager walked away from the window leaving me sitting there for another minute. Then a car pulled behind me and the manager saw I was still at the window. When he opened it, I told him that I was not given my drink, I want it without ice, my food was cold, and I wanted the meal remade fresh. He then asked to see the receipt, said ok, and made my drink. When I received my drink I reminded him that my food was cold and no longer met foodservice safety standards, being left out, not warming for more than 20 minutes. The time frame for the order to be made was 10 - 15 minutes. He refused to acknowledge the food safety issue and essentially told me it was my fault the food was no longer hot, that they are not responsible for serving fresh food once it's bagged, and that I would have to reorder the meal and pay again to receive my order again at that time. After asking for a fresh kids fries at least and being denied that with the same response, the manager walked away visibly frustrated and the cook came to the window asking what the issue was. I told him and was told they can't do anything about it. I asked for a refund and was told I needed to request a refund in the app since that's how the order was placed. If there is a corporate office for steak n shake, I would like this terrible experience acknowledged and a refund because the food I received did not meet foodservice safety standards, I could not warm it up myself because I was an hour away from my destination, this set my schedule back half an hour, and the manager was extremely unprofessional and uncompromising. Read moreWe went out for the night and walked into this location. Walking in we go greeted by some dude that cooks the burgers and waited 45 min to get greeted by our server or who ever she was. We finally ordered our food and when the food was ready we watched it sit at the window because our server was nowhere to be found. When our server finally realized our food was ready for 10 min she delivered it to the table. Started eating our food and very quickly realized that they used old fries that he just threw back in oil to heat them up. They tasted like cardboard. I went to the washroom and my god it was absolutely disgusting. The garbage was so overflowed that half of it was on the floor, water was running for who knows how long, sinks were dirty as well as the walls, and worst of all it smelled like poop because someone didn't flush. This was when we were the only ones in the building. It's just disgusting. Finally returned to my meal and ate the burger but those fries were never touched. We had to wait 20 min after we were done to tell our server to get our checks. Finally we get our check, the check in one hand and the other with her chocolate shake while she was on the clock in front of us at our table. No effort to hide that she was eating. Finally took out my credit card and we're told to pay up front and not everybody knows that in a smart manner. Little did she know this was my first and last time at this chain. I paid and she couldn't even give me a credit card slip to sign because she couldn't figure out that the machine was out of paper. You see I work at a nice restaurant and work with a pos and similar equipment, its not rocket science. Finally we left this terrible horrible experience. Read moreWaited patiently for our order but we just had enough. We arrived there 12am and we waited for 20 mins before a waiter got our order. We're not impatient people. We understand that it was kind of busy but it wasn't that bad. After we ordered we waited another 30 mins and then the manager (I assume) because she was wearing a different uniform came and ask if we are ready to order. We told her that we already ordered half an hour ago and she said "Okay." Then we waited for another 30 mins again and then we just had enough and called them over. I asked whats taking our order so long because the people who came in after us already got their order and then the manager didn't addressed us and just called the waiter who took our order and he asked us if were ready to order. I don't understand why they will mess up our order when we just asked 5 Frisco Melt to make it easy for the guy. There was around 15-20 people and the rest already got their food except us so I don't understand how they can get confused? I'm not the type of person who complains about this. This is the first time I'm writing a review about how bad a food place is. I'm not the type of person to complain about things like this hut this place is just that bad. I didn't want to write a review because I didn't want to waste my time but I just wanted people to be wary that their time might get wasted if they go to this Steak and Shake location.
