I heard of Cheba Hut from my phone (sandwich shops near me) and I'm glad. I could tell from the reviews that this was a stoner sub shop, but that only makes this place more interesting and ultimately better than your average sub shop. The service is really top notch. Everyone is friendly and truly seem to enjoy their jobs. The menu is a bit overwhelming if you are a first time customer. Rather than go through the entire menu, I asked if I could just get a ham and cheese with jalapenos. The cashier showed me a chicken sub that was supposed to be spicy, so I ordered that substituting ham and cheese for the chicken. The preparation took a bit longer than I expected, but it was brought to my table by a very friendly young woman. After a couple of bites, I thought I was given the wrong sandwich. I searched, but found no cheese nor jalapenos. I got the server's attention and explained my issue. She looked at my sandwich and pointed at something and said, "Here's the cheese and the jalapenos are below. That's how we make them." She suggested bringing me more jalapenos on the side. I agreed, although I never found (nor tasted) the cheese. Once I added the jalapenos, I was still unable to taste them because they were super mild. Despite the lack of cheese and bland jalapenos, the sandwich was absolutely delicious. The jalapeno chips were actually unbroken and tasty. My Dr. Pepper was refillable and refreshing. People continually checked on me, which I truly appreciated. They presented plenty of dessert choices (for the munchies?). I chose a macadamia cookie, which was very good, not dry, and generous with nuts. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and the tremendous service. If not for the mix up with my ingredients, this place would have received five stars. I still highly...
Read moreMe and my sister are from Tucson and came for the day and thought we’d order Cheba hut for dinner to go. It’s one of our fave spots in Tucson (the vibes, the food, the workers). Not sure if everyone here was having a bad day yesterday when I went in, but I never understood treating a customer rude especially when we were nothing but respectful & nice. We walked up to the wrong counter, (we had no idea, from Tucson) and told the guy working we had an online order, he legit just pointed to the other counter and said nothing. Upon walking up he didn’t greet us, or ask what we needed, just pointed, idk maybe he was mute? But I did see him talking to his employees with no problem. Then we finally got to the right counter, all was good there, got our food and left. Drove away and thank god checked the bag before hitting freeway cause the chips I ordered were not in bag. I get it mistakes happen all the time, I worked fast food for years, I know how it can be when it’s busy sometimes we forget things. So I pulled back up, told the lady they forgot my chips and asked if I could grab them. She gave me the rudest look and said “well it’s because you didn’t specify which chips you wanted on your order”. When making my online order I clearly remember clicking the pickle chips, and it even said it on my receipt which I wish I didn’t throw away. But long story short, don’t have people working who don’t have simple customer service skills. Like speaking to people and greeting them, and not being rude to someone when they tell you, you forgot to add their chips in their order. THE FOOD WAS BOMB THOUGH! I mean I will give them their credit there, it was delicious!!! But I definitely would never return to...
Read moreCame to try it out for the first time because of the hype ive heard of the spot. Unfortunately left really disappointed :( I had made an online order to dash in quick and take home to enjoy. I walked in to ask for help on the app because I couldn’t find the order I just placed and was rushed over to the mobile pickup section. Which I sat there for about 25 mins before being attended. When I got to speak with someone I was told that the mobile order system is new in store and that they didn’t know how the app works. I gave them the name of my order and they had to print out the receipt because they didn’t know where it was at along the line. I don’t know who Jasmine is but it seemed to be that she was the only one with sense in the crew from what I could hear. She would ask for them to print and label sandwich’s which they were not doing and a couple other request which would just pass right over their heads. If I’m not wrong I also heard someone ask her to calm down which is crazy to me as a customer seeing everything going on in store. 20 mins after they had printed my receipt I received my food. Which taste wise was delicious! But presentation was completely horrible on all three subs. They looked rushed and everything was thrown in very sloppy like. 2 out of 3 drinks were watered down with no ice because they were sitting in the mobile order section since I had gotten there. Place was packed with mobile orders and has a very small waiting area. Really disappointed that my fist experience didn’t live up to...
