Glendale Community College — Attraction in Glendale

Honestly, it has not been a great experience which is why I am more than likely dropping this joke of a school. I'm gonna be brutally honest and you all can hate me for it all you want. So, yes the teachers and students I have met are nice. But one had dropped me for some unknown reason saying how I have all these absences when I've done the work and there's no meeting scheduled. So why would I be dropped other than a failing grade?

Next, the bookstore. I had purchased a thing for this Eng. 101 I was taking and figured it would arrive within a week to a week and a half. I contacted them asking how much longer it should take and where the current location of it is, if there is one, got completely sidestepped. Now, fast forward about a month or two later, still the package has yet to arrive and classes have started. I ask for a refund 3 times and even say I would take it up with my bank. On the last email, I never got any reply and by this time I had found a digital copy so I could stay caught up in class. Now, I had even took it up with my bank, I got my refund and like any other person would think, they cancelled the order. But no. Instead of cancelling it, they proceed with the delivery and go against my word to the bank and say how I'm being fraud.

Honestly, this school is not even worth my time or money. I really cannot believe I wasted almost half a year for this terrible joke. I wouldn't even leave a two-star review if that were an option. And some joke your return policy is. Like how in the actual hell is anyone supposed to physically return a purchased item if it was never delivered until they take it up with their bank.

I'm gonna be honest when I say this.

What an absolute joke...

Went here for almost four years, I absolutely loved my professors that I had the pleasure of taking classes with. They definitely took their time teaching the class, and you can tell they thoroughly enjoyed teaching the classes. If you ever get the chance to take Michelle Walters, Trisha Lavigne, or Angela Mick. Do so because they seriously teach so well and are passionate in what they teach. 99% of my professors were amazing! Disappointed I won’t be able to stay here for nursing school, hope paradise valley has just as great of professors as GCC! Although the school looks run down, and is in an okay area, it’s a great school, I have no complaints with proffesors. The only thing that you seriously need to do yourself, is you need to know EXACTLY what classes are required for your avenue of a career choice, I took a class that I didn’t even need. Nursing staff and advisor staff are all of different pages when it comes to picking out classes. One person tells you one thing, than one tells you another. It’s confusing! I was told to retake my HESI although I did pretty well on it, which costs $50 just to take, and I decided not to and was accepted at Paradise Valley. It’s like everyone is money hungry. We are college students who more than half, if our parents aren’t paying our way, are basically broke due to paying for college. Please do your research before you commit to what advisors are telling you! It’ll Save you time and money for...

If you can, go elsewhere. I applied to this school and had all my necessary documents and payments turned in. I was charged out of state tuition ( even though I’m a resident ) and I’m supposed to be exempt from the charge anyhow for other reasons. I provided paperwork to the school to prove the charge was incorrect and nothing was done for weeks. I got threatened about being dropped from my class if I didn’t pay the charge that wasn’t even supposed to be there. I made multiple calls and went to the school and no one was of any help. The school finally got it together the day before my class started but now they don’t even have the books necessary for the class at the bookstore yet which were paid for in advance! ( the class has already started) I’m also having issues with logging into Microsoft 365 and called the help desk FOUR times with no help other than rest your password; which doesn’t work and I’ve explained that to them each time.
