IHOP — Restaurant in Glendale

The girlfriend and I occasionally visit this restaurant as it's close to our house and open 24 hours. The service has never been very good and the order has been messed up almost every single time we have been here. Our waitresses have been very friendly and have tried to be helpful in correct issues although the damage is already done. The restaurant is never very clean, I have seen thick dust on the windows next to the tables, crumbs on the floor under the tables and sticky syrup stuck to seats and other surfaces.

The last time we dined in here was early in the morning (after midnight), we were seated at a small booth with seemingly broken seats, they felt as though they were inflated or maybe the support under them had cracked leading to a squishy feeling under us. Not comfortable nor pleasant while we tried to enjoy our meals.

Our waitress was very kind, but she didn't really understand the menu items and food allergies. I ordered the egg white, plant sausage and protein pancake plate as I have a severe allergy to regular egg with a requested substitution of regular pancakes instead of Whey-based protein cakes which aggravates my lactose intolerance. She didn't seem to understand why I requested regular pancakes but when the order finally arrived it had regular eggs and the protein pancakes.

She quickly returned the dish to the kitchen and came back with corrected eggs, although not wanting to be a complainer, I ate the pancakes regardless. I also had to eat the eggs plain as she never came back by our table the entire time we were there, so I could ask for some sauce. My girlfriend was fortunate enough to catch her for a second to have her start a to-go quesadilla and sum up our check.

Every visit has been like this regardless of the time and busyness in the restaurant.

Also trying to call in an order in the past at this location has been a struggle as the phone line never seems to...

Just another IHOPs worst food experience.. our waitress was Chandra. Very friendly greeted us and sat us, got our drinks and our order. Cook seemed like a rookie.. she had to explain to him how our breakfast should be made. I got the veggie egg white omelette.. my wife got the avocado toast breakfast.. my omelette was nasty.. veggies were piled high and it was runny w dark brown juices. I get it the veggies are juicy but I’ve had better and I know it could have been way better than this.. Anyway, food took a really long time. I seen my food sitting under the heat lamp for quite some time.. when I seen my wife’s food at the window the waitress took my food to a microwave… I heard the microwave door close I heard beep beep and it was reheating.. reheating bcuz it sat forever.. then it was done I heard the microwave door close and she brought our food to the table. My wife’s toast was a little toasty on one side which was completely soggy bcuz the tomatoes were on the toast and the other side wasn’t toasted at all. Very disappointing and disgusting. I told the waitress and she said that that’s the way it comes.. what? No way! Please bring us another piece of toast TOASTED.. she did but still it was nasty.. learn to toast toast for real.. her bacon was strips and random broken pieces and so was my turkey bacon. Upsetting yet have to pay for this? We made the best of it but never never never again.. I do admit the atmosphere was great.. nice and warm very clean nice music but, the food horrible.. after we were done eating we seen another cook come it. If we would have waited about another hour maybe we would have had a better experience.. really disappointed.. waste of money. 💰 didn’t even want to give one star for the food.....

The food was amazing. My server Ossiel was the most absolutely energetic and positive person ever. BUT... Management berated him WITH a customer while other customers listened. Not only did he put down his staff he comped a table of 4 meals even though they ate every bite complaining the whole way through ensuring they would get a free meal. I ensured Ossiel that he was amazing and that his service was great. He was visibly shaken and nervous from his treatment, it was wrong but he still powered on and was kind courteous and accurate to us and all his other tables... I will return IF Ossiel will be my server.

Update: I have not seen ossiel since my original post, so I walk out. The manager is there though... they should get rid of that guy. He's a skeezy dude who reminds me of swiper the fox on dora the explorer.

While I appreciate your attempt at a reply @IHOP... this incident occurred like 2 or 3 years ago. I'm dead positive no one will remember a thing, let alone an unappreciated server. I believe great service comes from great servers, what I witnessed in that establishment was completely unacceptable. I lost my faith in fair and equal treatment from the people who are supposed to protect their employees from harassment of others. The fact that it took 2-3 years and an update for this place to respond shows how far we have fallen from work ethics and due diligence... but thank you @IHOP for...
