Edit to add: two days ago, Long, the owner, told me that he realizes that it possibly could have been his food, expressed how sorry he was and that he really wanted to make it up to me and if I could send him my order info. After silence for two days, he finally contacted me today to say that he doesn’t feel he’s guilty after all, but I can have either $30 back or a $60 gift card for my $130 spent. When I expressed that I have Lupus, an autoimmune disease that amplifies any illnesses I have, that I’m still sick, my husband mentioned that small bacterial infections could be fatal to me, and that I could die, the owner blatantly said “well it’s not gonna happen, but if it does, we have insurance that would pay for that.”. After he was called out for it, I told him that I’d mentioned before all of my phone calls are recorded, and I can play it back for him, he said I’m twisting his words and he didn’t want to have another conversation about this.
We came at 8pm and waited 30 mins for food that ended up making us so sick we had to go to the hospital. After contacting the owner, he said they make everything in batches made at opening annd reheated when ordered and it couldn't possibly be his restaurant because nobody else had called today to report it. I then asked if it was possible we were served a "batch" that had been sitting out most of the night since we came in close to closing and he just repetitiously said that it couldn't have been his restaurant. When I told him that I witnessed seafood being stored openly on the counter at room temperature (as we were leaving and had unfortunately already consumed food) before being served to guests, he wasn't concerned at all, he instead said that seafood is expensive and to give it a couple of days and if I was still violently throwing up and trying to expel everything, we could talk about the next step. He was extremely rude and said the restaurant business can't do refunds because it's too expensive, and literally offered no solution or apology, only blamed me and said it was something else l'd eaten that day even though nothing else in my diet changed. Don't go here unless you enjoy not knowing which end to point at the toilet...
Read moreThis is the second time I've ordered food for pickup. The first time I had to wait an additional 30 minutes from the time it was scheduled to be ready. I figured it was a one-off. So I tried ordering pickup again. I arrived at the scheduled time. The hostess told me they got busy and it would be 10 more minutes. After waiting 20 minutes and seeing 2 uber eats pickup orders. I asked if my order was almost ready. They said "No, not yet." Now 30 minutes has past and people who arrived after me, and are seated, are getting their food. I ask again if my food is almost ready. A lady comes out and tells me if I still want my order it'll be 10 more minutes or she can cancel it. I said if you can have it done in 10 minutes, then I'll wait. This lady had the nerve to say she just told them to stop making it. I aaked how that's possible when we've been discussing this and you never left. Then a man came from the back. I tried to explain what was happening and the lady was speaking to him in a language I didn't understand. So I have no idea what was said. He got loud with me and said I can't get the order without the ID on the card that ordered it. I said my wife ordered it and it's under her name. He pointed at a sign they posted. I said this wasn't on the website so how would anyone know. It was bull because the two people that picked up orders while I was waiting didn't show ID'S and I didn't the last time I ordered. Then the owner (I assume) started yelling to the staff call the police. I said, how are you going to take my money, not give me the food I paid for then start yelling to call the police. This place from the hostess to the owner or whoever was managing this place are liars, poor customer service and just terrible people. I wasted an hour of my time. I will never spend another penny at this place again. They just lost a...
Read moreWe had the opportunity to experience LA Crab Shack today. We arrived at the restaurant at 5:30 PM, just in time to order from their Happy Hour menu. Here's what we ordered:
Deep Fried Calamari: The fried squid was incredibly crispy and delicious, although the portion was a bit small for the regular price. $8.99 during Happy Hour. The regular price is $12.99.
Fried Gator Nuggets: This dish was tasty and crispy, although slightly salty. It was priced at $12.99 and had a relatively small portion.
Build Your Own Combo: We chose shrimp, mussels, and live crawfish. All of them were fresh, delicious, and seasoned just right. I also ordered an extra side of garlic butter sauce, and it was surprisingly delicious. Tip: You should order some rice to eat with the sauce--it's really good! The only I wish is they will let us do 50/50 on different sauce since one of our friend love spicy food.
The service was absolutely amazing, beyond a perfect 10! Our waitress was incredibly friendly, kind, and attentive. She always made sure to check on us and anticipate our needs. Our drinks were refilled before we even realized they were running low. It's been a while since I've experienced such exceptional service after the COVID situation, so it was truly refreshing. I believe her name was Katrina (apologies, I'm not great with names ).
Overall, we had a fantastic time at the restaurant, and the prices were reasonable. We'll definitely be returning, and I'm thrilled that it's just a 4-minute drive...
