Regular customer = 40+ visits over 5ish years (plus a decent amount of visits to other locations)
The person (middle aged man, average height, with short black hair) that now works there, who has only been around for maybe a year or so, continues to short our orders while rushing through the process. Tonight I walked in and I was the only customer in the restaurant and while I was already ordering he stopped to accommodate 2 separate individuals that walked in. He treated all 3 of us as if we were together even though I was already a 1/3 of the way through the steps. He couldn’t keep everything straight and skipped a step for me, which when I pointed that out he became irritated. As always, I asked for both the spicy aioli and spicy sesame sauce options to be combined, an even bigger frowny face ensued. Next up, I do not get any of the 3 salad scoop options and enjoy getting some extra veggies/fruit. Extra ginger? Here’s half a serving. Regular cucumbers? Here’s a serving for 3 bowls. It felt like spite. For my final toppings he slopped it on as fast as possible, but only added the spicy cheetos and forgot the fried onions. Then before I could even figure out what had happened he wrapped up the bowl with the side of soup and asked for payment. No mention of if I wanted a drink, chopsticks, or sauces. I then called him out for being the ONLY person that I have ever encountered at this place to be shorting portions. I do not even get 50% of the options and he has never been able to fill up a bowl halfway. The biggest reason we love this place is the stuffed bowls full of ingredients.
Poor service. Poor portions. Poor representation.
If you see this worker, as I have talked about multiple times, you should just turn around and walk out and save yourself the frustration. Maybe I will not give it another wasted effort next time, but I continue to be a sucker. If anyone else is working, your bowl will be well worth the money and not some half...
Read moreThis place sucks! If google allows me to give no star, I’d do that. I think the staffs of this place are highly racial. I went there a couple times to buy macaron, I stood there at the cashier for like 10 mins, and the staffs there kept chatting and pretended they didn’t see me. I went mad finally, and never smiled to them cause they didn’t deserve! I went there for 3 times, and 3 times are the same! They never greeted to me, always try to help other people even if they come in after me! Especially the staffs who are Asians! There is a girl, I remembered her name, but I don’t wanna say, although it does start with “S”. She and another guy saw me standing at the cashier and didn’t say anything, not even a hello! And at the mean time, they were just walking around instead of helping me! I mean, I’m an Asian, you guys are Asians as well, so what are you doing? Trying to put discrimination on Asians and pleasure white people instead? Denver is a big city, have you never seen other Asian people? Anyway, I feel offended! Although there was an American girl at the final time helped me immediately when she saw me. I’d never go back to this place! It’s not worth my attention and time! I’m the customer, I’m not gonna beg you to sell me stuff, I could go some where else, you are not the only place on this earth! I’m not using my money to buy...
Read moreWhile the place is well decorated, with lots of AstroTurf, plastic plants, lighting and phone charging cables.. the food is horrible on many levels!
In my opinion, lots of sauce is necessary to mask the very small servings of low quality fish (I had the yellow tail, salmon, and spicy tuna). In addition, the brown rice is either very old, treated with vinegar, or both. The seaweed salad is just bad. Some of the mango is to soft and slimy. The miso soup is barely edible when warm, and foul when cold. This is the only poke meal that I couldn't finish in years!
The glass separating the customers from the food while choosing the ingredients only protects the food from the shortest of people. Any sneeze, cough, or breath goes directly onto the food awaiting your selection. Gross!
To top it all off, the price point vs serving size of fish is higher than other poke places in nicer neighborhoods in Denver.
On the bright side, the guy preparing the bowl today was friendly, helpful, and practiced good food safety techniques (gloved hands, separate scoops for the ingredients, and covering the ingredients when there were no customers for a while)
With so much attention to detail having gone into creating a nice atmosphere to enjoy a meal, I feel bad leaving a two star review, but it honestly...
