I will start off by saying I absolutely adore Smashburger. However this is the worst dining experience that me and my friend have had due to the simple fact that the manager after us waiting 30 minutes delivered 2 cold Burgers and one with a bite out of it as soon as she put it down i was up and walking it to the register she then asked me what was the matter with the burger because I had already taken a bite out of it. I informed her that the bite was already taken out of the burger and the burger and fries were absolutely cold she tried to debate it with me. 30 minutes no lunch no milkshakes but I did get a refund. Management for this facility and whoever trained these staff should never be a manager again. The manager also repeatedly was slamming the outdoor patio metal frame door every. single. time. she came in and out of the exterior patio and when I mentioned that to her and how it was affecting everybody who had chosen to eat on the outdoor patio she gave an excuse that the door slams and that's just how it works. My simple response was that of common sense, if the door makes a whole lot of noise when you let it go maybe don't just let it go. Maybe close the door like a human being because you have hands and there's people who are sitting directly next to that loud door. Read moreI don't know if I just came in on a bad day or what but I am pretty frustrated. I came in on my lunch and was the only person waiting at the register. They greeted me but took 10 minutes to ask me if I needed to order. The woman that came and took my order seemed extremely annoyed to do so, maybe they had a lot of delivery orders to do, but still. My order came out to 12 dollars plus tip, I thought the payment went through but the woman claimed it was declined. We tried again 3 more times and she kept saying it was declined. The card reader never said declined, it just kept refreshing. I pulled up my bank account and I had plenty of money. I asked if we could try the other register because obviously something was wrong with their system because I have enough money. She responded with obviously you don't because it's being declined. I just walked out at that point because I couldn't believe she would actually say that to me. I went across the street and bought 20 dollars worth of food immediately after so obviously my card is fine. Like I said maybe they were extremely busy with deliveries and she just didn't want to take another order, I just don't understand why a grown adult would be so rude when I'm just trying to pay for some food. I had high hopes coming here since this is supposedly the original location of the franchise. I expected a flagship store with quality service and pride in presentation. Instead, it felt like a neglected, run-down chain location.
The interior was dirty — straw wrappers and trash left on tables, no one cleaning up, and the young employees behind the counter were too busy chatting amongst themselves to care. It honestly felt like the place was being run by unsupervised teenagers.
To make things worse, I was overcharged on my visit. I pointed it out, and instead of just refunding the overcharge, they voided the entire bill and recharged me again. I thought it was resolved — until I checked my card and saw I was billed twice. I went back in person, and the staff admitted the first refund never processed. They claimed to fix it again and assured me it would go through. It never did.
Bottom line: I paid twice for one meal and got no refund, no follow-up, and zero accountability. Whether it’s incompetence or something more shady, it’s unacceptable. This place is not worthy of being the first location of anything — and I strongly advise checking your bank statements if you’ve...
