Talk about the new kids on the block knocking it out of the park!! Reuben and his crew at The Spot are doing big things, and I do mean big!!! We stopped in with the family to grab some lunch and we will definitely be going back. My kids and wife all got the Spot on burgers which are insanely good. Reuben was nice enough to explain that the patties are not your regular burger patty. They are made with Angus beef, Brisket and Magic!!! Seriously, they were so juicy and flavorful I wish I would of ordered one too. (I may have stole a bite or two of my wife's...) I went with the Tequila Lime Shrimp and it was absolutely incredible as well, the perfect dish to keep it light and healthy. Others at the table ordered the Brunch burger and Cheese Curds which came out perfect as well. Drinks are poured with passion and knowledge and it shows in the presentation and incredible flavours. They offer several specialty drinks and we can definitely recommend the Sonoran Paloma Splash and the Grand Canyon Mule. Both are perfect on a hot summer day. And last but not least the service. The staff goes above and beyond, bringing out crayons and coloring pads for the kids and offering fries right away for the little ones. Things like that go a long way to keeping your little ones happy and entertained so that you can enjoy your time and meal. A lot of places open up and claim to be the new spot in town. Well let me tell you The Spot in Glendale delivered on all levels and we will be...
Read moreWe were excited to try this new place as it is close to our house. I feel bad to say what I’m going to say because I want restaurants to succeed and I could feel their excitement about recently opening and getting the liquor license a few days ago.
When I take my family out for a $117 meal if better be really good or we might as well cook at home. This food did not justify the pricing. A $16 burger really needs to be extraordinary and mine was actually sub par. I got the habanero burger and I will say the burger patty tasted great although it was well past medium which I asked for medium/medium rare. It really wasn’t spicy at all and seemed the peppers were from a can. I’m not sure if they were but they were definitely not fresh nor spicy. The bun also seemed bought as in a bag of buns and was soggy and lost all its structure.
My side salad was so underwhelming in flavor and didn’t seem fresh at all that I didn’t even finish it.
I also noticed the kids chicken tenders looked like they had the texture of processed frozen tenders which is fine for fast food but not when you’re claiming scratch kitchen.
I really wanted better quality food today when I took my family out for dinner. ...
Read moreStopped in (first time), just before 3pm, lunch specials were still available. Haley was bartending (upon entering it seems more of a bar atmosphere, but the food menu has great choices), so Haley recommended the Spot burger; very good, cooked perfect. They prepare all their food in house. She told me the 3 types of beef the burgers are made of, forgot, but very good. It came with shoestring fries, not a fan of that type, but they were okay. I also tried the Fried Greenbeans as an appetizer(ordered after 3pm, got happy hour price), I liked them, even though there were not that many on the plate as served. Haley's service was awesome. The bar, quite large is kinda in the middle, so if the bar has a few patrons, it could get loud for seated diners. There is about 10-11 good size TV's placed in good spots for viewing televised events. Looks like a nice outdoor patio eating/drinking area on the east side; that's good in the afternoon when the AZ sun is being blocked by the building. Plenty of free parking, handicap accessible as well. I recommend to try The Spot...
