A bit of a rocky start, but service really picked up and food was very good. It was the first week of dine in and they still have outdoor seating so was confusing where to check in. I asked a passing waiter and he said we can take a seat, who we do. A few minutes later, I see another server asking others if they had checked in and would get them a table and looked our way. After a while I realize no one knows we sat ourselves, per instruction, so I went inside to talk to the waitress I saw attending to others. She might have been the hostess, but was also waiting tables so it was a bit confusing. Once I let her know what happened, she told me she would send out a waitress with menus. From that point on, I think things went much better service wise.

As for the food, it was mostly delish and portions were huge! We ordered the House specialty Chicken, rib and brisket combo with chicken tortilla soup and red cabbage. We also ordered the mozzarella sticks. First off, they split our meal without letting us know and then they brought out the first tray. I commented how much food that was ad she pointed at the tray and said she would bring one more. I assumed it was an extra “plate” but found out it was another tray with my half of the food!!! Crazy. The mozzarella stick order was huge too! Delish too. Crisp on the outside and sheet goodness inside. The marinara dipping sauce was awesome too. As for the rest of the meal, chicken and ribs were on point with chicken as the standout of the entire meal. BBQ sauce a perfect compliment. The brisket was a little dry but had great flavors. Cabbage salad on point. Tortilla soup had promise. Was outside and cold, so the soup got cold very fast which didn’t help but it needed a kick of some kind. They don’t have salsa or tapatio (just tobacco), so we decided to pack it to go along with the ton of leftovers to enjoy later, which we did.

Definitely worth another visit, but I do have to admit I did go for the hope of roast turkey with mashed potato’s and gravy, which was no longer on the menu. I guess I’ll wait until the menu gets back to normal or I crave...

NEVER AGAIN!!! We had been loyal customers for several years, even through COVID. But since the ownership changed a few years ago, the quality of the food has been inconsistent and the service spotty, depending on the server. Tonight we, a party of 6, arrived at 4:20 pm before the dinner rush. Noah greeted us at our table and took our drink orders, then brought our drinks and took our food order. That was the last we saw of Noah, or any server, at our table for at least 45 minutes, never receiving our food or any drink refills. In the meantime, other guests were arriving, ordering and receiving their food. We finally got Noah's attention and asked him when our food was coming. He said they were really busy, part of the order was ready and he wasn't sure when the rest would be ready. We asked to speak to the manager or owner and he stated that he was the acting manager. We asked him how he would feel if we left the restaurant. He replied that he wouldn't like it but he couldn't do anything to stop us, then he walked away again to service other tables. We waited a few more minutes then got up and left the restaurant and had a wonderful meal down the street. Wouldn't a good manager be apologetic and go to the kitchen and push things along? This is not the first time we were disappointed with the service and decided to give them another try, but no more. The only reason I gave one star is because zero is...

No reply from Frisella's - Just makes me sad.....

Our family has enjoyed Frisella's for many years. Unfortunately, our last few visits have been so disappointing that we will not be returning. The lack of service throughout the entire experience was unacceptable. Once seated we waited and waited and waited until one member of our party finally got up, went to the back, and inquired if we even had a server. From the rest of the experience, it became obvious that there was NO one who had been assigned to wait on our table. Three different times someone had to leave our table to ask for drink refills, items that were missing from our order, ask for assistance, ask for a check and finally pay. We watched other parties come and go (apparently they had been assigned a server?) and still we waited. There were never any apologies, only excuses. One of the best lines was when our daughter went to track down the individual who had taken our order. His response was, "ummmmm, where are you sitting?" Obviously, he had no idea we were even there! The "service" was inexcusable, the food was mediocre, and the attitude was offensive. We were treated like an annoyance rather than patrons of the establishment. Sadly we will not be back. How unfortunate that Frisella's has become a place we will...

My girlfriend and I frequent Frisellas every now and again but I do believe after yesterday's experience we will make an effort to become regulars. We started with the fried shrimp appetizer which was very good. (and on happy hour) Rum and coke was enjoyed by my fair lady and I imbibed in the voodoo ranger Ipa. From there we went on to our main courses, the Olympic burger for my girlfriend and the fish n chips for myself. My girlfriend's order initially was delivered incorrect as she wanted the gorgonzola cheese on the side which it was but they still put it on the burger anyway. Our server made quick work of the mistake and took our burger back so it could be prepared correctly. My fish n chips were frankly delicious I also don't know what seasoning they use on the fries but they were also spot on. The Olympic burger was also well concocted. However I do believe my go too will be the fish n chips as I can't understate how delicious they were. Also It is also worth noting that upon receiving the check I noticed our server didn't charge me for one of the Ipa's I ordered. I assume as a way of apology for the botched initial burger order. Frisella's Roastery has earned itself a couple of new soon to be regular patrons.

I used to enjoy the Frisella's in La Verne, so was excited to come here. The place is charming and I am sure the cocktails are great but the food.... the food was nothing of what I remembered. No strawberry lemonade, though the website says they do, was the first let down. I ordered the brisket sandwich with coleslaw and my daughter had the roasted chicken dinner. We were served promptly but my brisket was not brisket. I believe it was tri tip either way it was chewier than the bread. Plain, no seasoning or flavor other than the bbq sauce I poured on it. The coleslaw was drowned in dressing. My daughter's chicken breast was lukewarm to say the least but she enjoyed the corn and beans. For the price, it definitely wasn't worth it. Needless to say we wont be coming back here. Save your money if you want real bbq.
