ZA Pizza — Restaurant in Glenwood Springs

I am an out of town traveler and decided to give these guys a try. I had them deliver my pie to my hotel and it was delivered in the time frame that was given over the phone. I ordered a 14" cheese with pepperoni and mushrooms and a large drink. The pie itself was great! And if I was to base this rating strictly on the quality of the food, I would rate it a 5. The reason I am only giving a 3 star rating is because my bill did not reflect the pricing on the online menu. The menu shows a 14" cheese for $12.43 and the additional toppings for $1.61 each. Simple math tells you that equals $15.65. The menu also does NOT show drink prices, but for argument sake, lets say a large drink costs 3 dollars. That brings the total to $18.65. Factor in the 8.6% sales tax in Glenwood Springs and that gives a final total of $20.25. I was told that the total would be $25.96. I agreed to that on the phone assuming that they were adding in the delivery driver's tip. When the driver arrived, I asked if the tip was included and the driver told me no! Where did this extra 5 dollar charge come from? When I questioned him on it, he replied that he didn't ring up the charge and that his job is to deliver. So I paid the $25.96 AND a 5 dollar tip to the driver!!! I know it seems petty to complain about and extra 5 dollars, but I expected to only pay the $25. Is the menu pricing current? If not, why? Or did the guy ringing up the order not know what he was doing and overcharged me? Either way, I have a hard time going back to a place that can't offer an explanation for the over charge. I must admit the pizza here is amazing. My boyfriend and I absolutely loved it! However, I can't say the same for the customer service. I've read some reviews on here claiming that the staff and owner were amazing, yet our experience didn't reflect that. The kid who took our order barely acknowledged us as we came in (didn't even look up at us) and was extremely rude as we were ordering. He seemed annoyed and spoke to us as little as possible. When I was given my order, I was told that I should have clarified whether or not I wanted meat sauce or marinara, despite originally telling the kid we wanted marinara. We looked at the menu online to decide what to order, and nowhere does it mention that there is typically meat in their sauce. I feel it is the job of the person taking the order to clarify that there were multiple sauce options (and that some were not vegetarian) and to make sure we got the sauce we wanted. In this conversation, it felt like, once again, the staff acted annoyed and cold. Although the pizza was delicious, the strangely rude staff left a bad taste...

It’s sad to know that they have good food but they treat you horribly. Older cousin’s, siblings AND other student’s have told me not to come here because they treat/judge you very rudely. I should’ve listened. And I’ll definitely be warning upcoming freshman that want to go here for lunch because it seriously seems like lunch is your guys cranky hour. I understand that lunch is rush hour but the way you all have treated me every time someone would invite me here is absolutely terrible. Personally I don’t like eating/ordering at a place where I know the employees mistreated me and judged me. It’s sad to see that others aren’t talking about this. I don’t understand if it’s because of our ages but it shouldn’t matter at all. A customer is a customer. And just because we’re under aged doesn’t give you guys the right to mistreat us.
