Popped in to Dino's a couple Saturdays ago, early evening. Not many people were there which means we were seated immediately. There is ample parking for sure; the restaurant has a nice, wide open space; well decorated; as well as a pretty good sized patio. I did not see any misters out there, just lights and plenty of umbrellas (it was well shaded at 5 pm).
There was a sign at the hostess station about yelling & screaming in the kitchen which made me laugh. I was a bit disappointed I didn't hear any of that going on. Ha ha!
We have a love for cheese which means we ordered the saganaki, plus the zucchini cakes. You can't hear it from the picture but the sizzling saganaki was good and the pita was hot. It would have been nice if the zucchini was cut a bit more thickly but it, too, was hot and tasty.
I ordered the pork chop dinner (soup & salad) and my sister ordered the lamb souvlaki. Excellent seasoning on both dishes! And boy oh boy, was it a lot of food. There were two pork chops on that plate and thanks to the appetizers, soup, and salad, I barely ate much of my actual meal -- but that's okay, having three days' worth of lunch leftovers was wonderful.
We were both full but there was no way in hell we were going to not get dessert. You generally cannot go wrong with baklava, but flaming baklava ... ? Yeah, it was a very tasty treat for sure.
Next time we hit Dino's (and there will be a next time!), we will focus on the Italian side...
Read moreWe were in the area and decided to check out Dino’s for some lunch. When we arrived we were greeted right away. It was around noon and was pretty quiet inside though business did pick up a little throughout it our meal. The location was clean, had a full bar, with ample amount of seating. The lunch menu is fairly small as I’d looked online a moment and showed more options for dinner. Bummer, but not the end of the world. One of my first thoughts was it was pretty pricy for lunch. I didn’t know the portion sizes, but that was a deferent on what I’d be trying. Definitely more willing at dinner time to spend a little more, today we weren’t starving and decided to try their 10 in thin crust pizza. We opted for pepperoni and black olives. We also ordered the Caesar salad. We were asked if we wanted the small size, but according to the menu it was entree size only so we went with the larger since we were sharing. Our waitress was friendly. We had our food pretty quickly. The pizza had a crispy crust and was definitely not lacking cheese. Toppings were underneath. It smelled so great and was pretty good. The salad came with some slices of pita bread and had the perfect amount of dressing mixed in, Parmesan and such. All in all it definitely hit the spot and we didn’t leave overly stuffed. Service was good and we never had to ask for anything. I’d probably come back and try some dinner options in the future, but again the menu was a bit...
Read moreWent with my spouse. Ordered calamari for appetizer. Presentation was fair, portion size: less than mediocre. Flavor: very bland. Rating: 2/5 Attempted to order pork chops for entree, apparently grill wasn't operational. No signage or warning prior to ordering. Decided to try fettuccine alfredo, salad choice Caesar salad. Caesar salad presentation: far too much cheese for personal preference. Taste: tasted leaf and the salad was warm and Caesar dressing was warm. This is very off-putting as this is a basic food safety no no. Rating: 1/5 Fettuccine alfredo presentation was as expected, portion size: small as if ordering a side dish, not a main course. Taste: flavorful. Rating 3/5. Garlic toast tasted stale and like old oil. Rating: 1/5.
Also, my alfredo was served on a chipped plate. For safety purposes, you shouldn't serve dishes on chipped or broken plates.
Service: upon arrival, sweet lady sat us and took our drink order. She gets 5/5. Actual server never got us refills and attempted to charge for bad salad. Although he did try to make it up by removing and offering free cheesecake. Rating: 2/5.
Save your money if the service stays same, the salad is still served at dangerous temperatures, and the grill is down. Better off getting bag lettuce, jar alfredo, and box pasta...at least you know what...
