Manuel's Mexican Restaurant & Cantina | Goodyear — Restaurant in Goodyear

For a Mexican Restaurant and Cantina I was expecting a more authentic dining experience. The atmosphere was not what I expected. Staff was friendly and inviting and service was fast and attentive but the place itself was mid. I thought for being a cantina music would be playing at the bar area. We were seated at the bar area and they were showing the basketball game but no music.

Ordered our food and it wasn't really anything to rave about. The salsa was ok and the food was barely hot. The plates themselves were hot but the food wasn't. Rice and beans had no flavor. They need to up their seasonings to their food as the majority of our plates were bland. They also need more salsa options with their street tacos. No other salsa options besides what they serve you with the initial chips and salsa. The tacos were tiny with barely any meat. The plate was mainly of rice and beans and 4 little mini street tacos. The steak and enchilada plate was a descent portion size. I had the beef machaca it was dry not saucey the way it should be. It almost tasted as if the meat had to be reheated before served. Didn't taste fresh. The desert and drinks were honestly the highlight of the meal. We had a couple of mangoneadas and a Manuel's green iguana. The best part was the deep fried ice cream at the end of the meal. For spending over $200 I thought it was ok at best.

If the vibe was more upbeat with some music I would of probably been ok with the quality of food and enjoyed more of the experience. We chose this restaurant based on the name thinking the atmosphere would be more authentic to a Cantina vibe with some music playing in the...

Have been there several times, yesterday was my worst experience. I arrived at about 3pm, no host/hostess waiting to seat customers. Only one other couple who arrived shortly after me. We looked at each other wondering where the host was.

After a good 7 min or so, a waiter came to seat me. The restaurant had, maybe 6 tables with customers. I seated, and was brought a bowl of cold, thin commercial grade corn chips with what tasted like generic "jarred salsa" from a grocery store. No flavor and super mild! DEFINITELY NOT homemade! I asked for the Extra Hot Sauce.....again, from a jar....tasted like tomato sauce with powdered Chili pepper sprinkled on it!...ugh!!

After 10 mins, the waitress came to my table,. I asked for Menudo since it was advertised that they serve it on Saturday & Sunday. I was told that they stop serving it at 2:00pm. I told the waitress, "That is not what the sign says", she apologized. So I proceed to order a bowl of Albóndiga Soup. By now, it had been 20 min since I arrived. Another 10 min go by, no waitress, no soup!! How long does it take to pour soup into a bowl in a restaurant with about 6 tables occupied!!

Needless to say, I decided to leave....never to return. The place is over-rated, minimal staff on a Saturday no less. The Bartender was waiting tables in his section AND tending bar, ( noticed this on my way out of the restaurant), 2 waitresses, and the Chip/Salsa server,

Not sure if this is under new or "tired" management, but they are definitely cutting corners with...

Yesterday was our first time trying this place out. My boyfriend and I arrived and the server took a while to take our order which I didn’t mind at first. After taking the order i asked for more chips and salsa and he said he would let someone know. A different server walked up to our table and asked if we would like more chips and we said yes, but they never brought them. After this we waited for 30 minutes for our food to arrive so we decided to just cancel the order. The manager comes out and is rude, saying “15” minutes for a dish isnt long, but we had ordered 30 min ago which means the server put in our order late. We politely ask to cancel the order and he proceeds to be rude asking questions and making us seem like liars, instead of just accepting the fact that we were not happy with the service there. The table next to us was a party of 5 and they were all served before we were and they arrived 15 minutes after we did. We paid for our two drinks which we shouldnt even have had to after the terrible service but instead of offering that, the manager just shrugged us off and said ok. Needless to say we are never coming back here,...
