I don't generally take reviews as absolute truth because I believe you should judge for yourself, but a lot of the reviews spoke on the cost of the food vs the portion size and the lack of flavor. Unfortunately, I would have to agree with this to some degree. I ordered the Jerk Chicken Entree and was not thrilled with the portion size considering the cost ($18.49) and I was missing the festival that was supposed to be included. I chose the rice & peas and cabbage as my sides. The chicken was tender and definitely had a grilled smoky flavor, but that's it. There was no 'jerk' flavor at all as far as seasoning on the chicken or in the sauce I chose which was on the side (medium). The sauce basically tasted like spicy sweet and sour BBQ sauce. I was really disappointed as I was hoping for great Jerk Chicken as I hadn't had any since I moved from Chicago a few years ago. The rice & peas had no flavor at all. I can tell they used red kidney beans and the rice was cooked perfectly - texture wise - but that's itā˜¹ļø The cabbage was good, different from any Jamaican cabbage I've ever had but it was still good. I also ordered the Curried Goat Entree ($26.99) again, the portion size did not justify the cost. The goat was really good though, very tender and had a great spicy curry flavor and was exactly how I remembered from other authentic Jamaican restaurants I've been to in the past. I had the white rice and plantains for sides but again, no festival. The other items I ordered were a Beef Patty ($6) which was really good and authentic tasting and Callaloo ($15.99). I've never had Callaloo but I have always wanted to try it. The flavor was great and almost reminded me of very tender mixed greens with spinach, peppers and onions, however, the size of the container I received did not justify the cost. The container was about the same size as a Patty and even my fork was longer. I felt the portion I received should have been no more than about $10 max. All in all, this place was good (if you don't want Jerk Chicken) but not good enough for me to return any time soon.

Arrived here and waited 10min to get my order taken. There were 2 young women running the front and it was relatively empty inside. The young lady took our order and disappeared. I requested a drink with my order, never got it. Food quickly comes out, missing items from what we ordered, but no silverware. The young lady disappeared again. We waited as the food just sat there. My colleague then had to get up and ask for silverware and for to go plates, mind you I never got my drink, nor did the server come back and check on us. Finally, we box our food and wait another 10 min for the bill, after enough poor service we left the food and all and departed. Such a horrible experience, especially because there are so few ethnic restaurants available in Goodyear and surrounding counties. ****updated review as of 3/20/24*** Came back to try it again because Arizona does not offer many Carribean/West Indian restaurants in the valley. Sky (skylar) our sever greeted and immediately brought water and cutlery to our table. Then began to ask about drinks and apps which was ordered. I asked about a few items on the menu and her playful demeanor was refreshing. I acted as a customer who was there for the first time and she was extremely helpful, patient, and knowledgeable. When i inquired about the fried chicken entree, she immediately informed me it would be a 20 min wait because it was cooked fresh which I appreciated. I like knowing if I have to wait versus expectations of food coming out super fast. Overall great experience and the jerk wings and mac and cheese were šŸ”„. The jerk was slightly charred which I’m usually not a fan of but no complaints, I prefer the more smoked versus open grill texture. Oxtails were decent and the beef patty was super fresh, warm, and amazing filling. I’m glad I came back and will come again.

Everything was good BUT the portions and the price. We normally get it to go BUT it was Father’s Day and my kids wanted to dine-in. Ok fine everything was great BUT the portions seemed to be half of what we get for take out. I only got two pieces of ox tail when the Togo has or always had four. The plate was just enough no left overs and I wasn’t full but just satisfied. My son felt the same BUT my daughter left with a Togo bag and said she was full. She had the rasta pasta and my son had the Ackee. A Ginger Beer and three alcohol beverages. Totaling $156 +$20tip grand total $176 glad it was Father’s Day. Felt no guilt when I passed the bill to my daughter. Lol BUT for all in All the food was as expected WONDERFUL and we had a good time and I’m only doing take out unless someone else is paying šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

I going in and adjusting my review because of the owner of both locations , and the manager at the Phoenix location! I am beyond thankful for the time and communication and their willingness to make it right! My husband and I always normalize going to the Phoenix location because proximity to work at that time now that we’ve relocated to Litchfield in the last couple of months we’ve been going to this Goodyear location and it just has not been the same . My husband and I enjoy going to the Valentine’s Day dinners at the Phoenix location and we don’t mind spending the money and the atmosphere is always welcoming. The whole staff is always amazing and always polite and the food is always piping hot at the Phoenix location. It took me three times at the Goodyear location to put a one star review from the experiences that I had, and I understand how it affects the overall company but I was frustrated. However, the manager truly made it right as well as him contacting the owner and the owner personally calling me and making this right was well beyond my expectations and I just wanted to say thank you and I’m adjusting my review based off of those two interactions. (This was the original review: My husband and I love the phoenix location and happy to have one near our home in Litchfield. I’ve ordered3 times and it’s far from Cheap! I feel scammed … first time I ordered I was happy but a little cold. 2nd time the portion was small. This time it’s as if I got a kids meal. For the money, they actually should be ashamed for allowing this location to mess up their reputation. I just traveled 19 hours on a flight home and needing dinner. When it arrived I was offended and felt robbed).

The manager at the Phoenix location (because when I called Goodyear she was polite but said there wasn’t one, didn’t ask me if everything was ok, or if I wanted to leave my number)… so I called Phoenix area and they immediately took charge. I was blown away and this intersection reminded me of the service I’ve always received at the Phoenix location and based off them they made me want to provide 5 stars because the owner is 5 stars and expects that from his employees. Though it took 3 unpleasant visits to this location to finally get frustrated. The owner and Phoenix many truly made...
