French Taste Cafe, Pastries & Sandwiches — Restaurant in Grand Forks

I would have given zero stars but you have to give at least one star to leave a review. Everything you see regarding this restaurant online is very misleading. There is almost no seating….our group of 9 people literally filled the whole place. The service was very poor….we even heard one of the employees comment ‘oh great … more people’ when we were on the phone giving directions to the rest of our group. The smoothies lacked any flavor and were more like frothy milk. The crepes…oh the crepes…they were very unimpressive as well - and looked nothing like the pictures that are posted. And actually the most disturbing part of our visit here happened, unfortunately after we had already eaten our crepes, but the crepe flipper dropped on the floor & the workers picked it up and set it back on the counter right next to where they are cooking the crepes and then less than 10 seconds later we observed that exact crepe flipper (WITHOUT HAVING BEEN WASHED) get used to flip the crepes they were intending to serve to the other guests that had managed to also squeeze into this place. (Again this place is incredibly small so our 9 and the other groups 4 took every chair in the place). A pure diamond in the rough! I have been a customer of Fergusons bookstore for many many years and this little "French Taste" cafe is the best thing I have found there. Cozy, peaceful and THE BEST crepes I have ever had. I WILL a repeat customer forever. The BLT crepe and the pizza crepe were my first delightful digestible. Absolutely so pleased with my experience at French Taste! Warren, Austin and Olivia are all so welcoming, friendly, and provide great service! The crêpes taste amazing, and they provided me with a vegan option which was awesome! The coffee is local from Bully Brew. Definitely planning to stop in more regularly. Not just for great crêpes, but also for the full French experience and great interaction with great people. What an awesome...
