I don’t really write reviews but I’m so bothered by the way I was treated here earlier today. I was looking forward to visiting urban stampede for the second time after visiting and having a great experience a few months ago. I was also excited to bring my family as we travel to Grand Forks from Canada often and are coffee lovers. We ordered 3 drinks - 2 cold brews and a hot americano. I paid and we waited for our drinks. A few minutes later, the barista informed us that they were out of cold brew so we chose iced americanos instead and I asked to have the $2 difference for each drink to be refunded. We also noticed they charged us for 4 drinks instead of 3 so we asked her to remove one. I was then charged a second time for 4 drinks but didn’t realize it until a second barista was handing us the 4th drink. I went back to the till and explained they charged us again for an extra drink to which the barista replied that we could just keep the extra drink and I explained that we didn’t need the 4th drink - we wanted a refund as it was their mistake. In every interaction were calm, polite and patient and the barista spoke to us passive aggressively making us seem like the issues that happened were our fault. After settling the refunds, she asked us if we wanted the receipt and pretty much threw it down on the counter and immediately turned her back to us and walked away. In that moment, I wish I could have taken back my generous tip for them that I continued to leave each time they adjusted the transaction. We wanted to sit awhile and enjoy our coffee but felt so uncomfortable by the baristas attitude that we had to leave. I will never come back nor will I ever recommend this coffee shop in the future. Their coffee is good but could never be worth the treatment...

Or play board games or talk to your heart’s content.
Urban Stampede is sure to be the place for all of it. Nestled in a quiet corner near downtown Grand Forks (we were there on long weekend Sunday mind you), the place provides plenty of seating inside and on the curb.
Decorated beautifully with pieces by local artists and indoor plants (grown in repurposed empty tea containers) Urban Stampeded decor is cerebral, hip and old school and trendy - all at the same time.
My niece identified it online during our short trip from Canada and oh am I glad we found this gem.
Plenty of coffee, tea and infused drinks options for everyone plus pastries and bagel etc to munch on. They also have board games if you have some time and enjoy competing while enjoying your beverages.
Must try when in Grand Forks!

Read moreBeen here twice now. Coffee is good, atmosphere is good, decor is charming and cozy in an eclectic way. Baristas have been polite but disinterested, which honestly works for me because i know what i want. No trouble getting my drink in a timely manner. The poor review comes from the fact that i watched the barista stick her fingers in my cup before making my drink. Cleanliness and hygiene, especially in a food setting, is HUGE to me. She did not wash her hands prior, was not paying attention, and just stuck her fingers in my cup when she grabbed it to make the drink. And not just a bit, she literally stuck the entirety of all four fingers into my cup. So. I paid for a drink I'm now not drinking because I'm genuinely horrified, since I've often worked food service and this is...
