Russ' Restaurant — Restaurant in Grand Haven

I'm sharing my frustration in regards to an error between door dash and russ's. I tried to door dash a chicken dinner on the door dash app and it kept saying I had 2 options or something like that however I had everything required selected but the app wouldn't allow me to proceed. I placed the order with what I thought was a work around selecting the no sides button figuring I'd get what was in the picture and on the menu, chicken mashed potato's with gravy and a dinner roll. I placed the order and it was rejected after taking my payment, I'm assuming because it didn't have the sides added? I'm not sure why instead of losing business an associate from Russ's could call me (not sure if they have access to my phone number but they must since the driver does?) It would have been a simple call to save the order and keep a customer happy. Instead I selected a different restaurant and now have a negative opinion toward a restaurant I've been going to my whole life. Absolutely loved our experience at this restaurant my daughter had a field trip close by so I brought my 4-year-old son here for lunch while she enjoyed her field trip and he had an absolute blast the food was amazing by far the best burger I've ever had in my life and he absolutely loved the mac and cheese and chocolate milk after my daughter got done with her field trip she was hungry so we brought her here where she had what she describes as the best turkey club even better than the ones I make at home my son and I had dessert the coconut cream pie was absolutely amazing and my son thoroughly enjoyed his hot fudge chocolate cake my daughter said that the chocolate milkshake was to die for oh and last and certainly not least the homemade onion rings we're absolutely perfect we could not finish them all and brought them home I reheated them in my air fryer and they were just as delicious especially with the fantastic ranch .....we might live 2 hours away but I will definitely be planning a vacation close by so I can bring the rest of the family to this...

Driving through town, we stopped in at this Russ location as we were headed towards Muskegon. We were looking forward to having a nice meal and were pretty tired from driving all day. As soon as you step inside, there's a blast of nostalgia that hits you as you walk through the door. You can feel the cross between vintage and modern. The carpeting throughout the layout is in dire need of replacement, you can smell a bit of funk coming from it and see noticeable stains and water damage that's probably been there from the '70s. Our waitress was sweet as pie but the food was below mediocre. My burger bun was soggy, the Mac and cheese was microwaved (the waitress told me that after I had complained how gross it was), our salad wilted just like our hope was for having an enjoyable meal. Only thing I loved was seeing other families that surrounded us having a good time. I can tell this is a hot spot for the locals. Definitely not for us. Poor quality, high prices for...
