St Patrick's Day, and my wife and adult daughter wanted green beer and dinner. Three or four other places were full or had long waits, 'til Blue Moon had a short wait. We checked in as 3d in line, and were able to see the basketball game on a nearby tv. Good social distancing was being observed; every other barstool, empty tables as needed, etc. A party left from right by the door, so we moved up one spot. The table across from it, by the opposite wall, left, and another group from the middle of the bar area left at the same time. The hostess seated the couple ahead of us at the table we could see, and led us to the middle of the room. The table was about 4' from the barstools an 10' from the wall, right in the thick of all the activities and noise. This is likely a wonderful situation for some folks, but not us. My wife has agoraphobia, and we can do events, bars, and restaurants if we have some separation from the crowd and are near a door. This table was neither. I wear hearing aids, and this location would render them useless. My daughter spoke with the hostess, who led us back to the entry and then went to talk to the manager. After a couple of minutes, I saw him talk to the previously seated couple, and they got up and followed him to another table. We were then seated at that table; straight line to the exit, ten feet from the nearest table, against the wall, and near a tv with a game going. A custom fit for our particular limitations. Besides hearing aids, I also use lip-reading in situations like this. The waitress realized this and would lower her mask whenever she addressed me. She was about the most aware, attentive but not intrusive, waitress I've ever had. She noted noted my Vietnam vet hat and thanked me for my service, specifically re Vietnam. She recommended their Monte Christo as the best in town. I must agree. It was perfect. The combined actions of the hostess, waitress, and manager made this an experience we will long remember....
Read moreDisappointed again and won't be back after our experience tonight. My family has had some really good meals in the past at this restaurant but the last several times have been bad. My husband had the catfish special. The fish portion was so small it was laughable and cost $16.00 and they offered a side, my husband chose to get a bowl of coleslaw as the side, but the plate looked nearly empty of food with the tiny filet of fish and the bowl of coleslaw looked like an afterthought. My gyro was OK, most of it was decent but one end of it was really dry/overcooked and inedible. The waitress messed up my son's order and told the kitchen the wrong meal entirely. He had clearly ordered chicken tenders but she told the kitchen that he had ordered a tenderloin sandwich. We had to wait for them to cook a new meal for him. She did bring it out as quickly as it could be cooked and did apologize which was nice, but the meal should have been taken off the bill considering the situation but she did not offer this. She also walked away quickly after dropping off the late dish without making sure my son had a drink refill after asking the adults at the table if they needed refills. He tried to tell her but she rushed off so quickly and didn't come back for awhile, seemed like 10 minutes, so he ate his late meal with no beverage. Positives: the interior decor is nice, I especially like the...
Read moreThis establishment genuinely deserves 0 stars. I have no idea what the food tastes like because we never got served food. They weren't particularly busy, but it took 45 minutes and several trips to talk to wait staff just for us to get our drinks. We were only a party of 3. We waited an additional 30 minutes after that before we left. Great atmosphere, but there might be an organization or training problem, because wait staff seemed genuinely confused every time we asked to be served. Try it out, but make sure you have time to wait just in case you get an experience like us.
*Update: We were kind enough to try and pay for our drinks when we left, but the wait staff was incredibly rude. When we tried paying for just our drinks, the staff insisted that since the kitchen started preparing the food, we would have to pay for the meal that we never ate. We just wanted to get out of there, so we gave them the card. The waitress ran the card, then literally threw the receipts and check holder back at us. We had to pick our card and receipts off the floor. This was truly embarrassing for this establishment. We will be disputing the charges...
