We eat at chili’s fairly regularly, the pickles there are my favorite. After last night you couldn’t pay me to eat there again. I ordered food Togo at 7:46pm. It was estimated to be ready by 8:06 to 8:11, I always want to make sure I am there as soon as possible so my food doesn’t sit in the window.
I arrived at Chili’s at 8:00pm, someone came out and asked for our name fairy quickly. Once 8:20 rolled around I stopped the to go lady and kindly told her our food was pretty late at this point (thinking how annoying it would be if it’s just sitting in the window) she says she will grab it right now. Another 13 minutes goes by with no word before I decide to call the store at 8:33pm.
The girl who answers informs me that they had dropped our fajitas on the floor. So that’s why it was taking so much longer they had to make new fajitas. I told her how irritating it was but nobody bothered to mention this to us. I’m sitting out there for about 35 minutes at this point waiting with no communication. At this point I realized that the chances that they remade my burger and french fries were practically none. Meaning they probably sat in the window for over half an hour.
I’m not really sure why it takes 20+ minutes to re-make fajitas regardless, but I thought if I asked for a manager to bring it out that would mean a manager would look over it and make sure everything was right and fresh. Nope. The manager brought it out and informed us that he had taken off the price of the fajitas. I asked if they had remade the rest of our food to which he responded “that’s a good question probably not.” To which I said well that’s pretty disgusting. He asked if I would like them to go remake my other order… While we sit and wait longer and now the fajitas sit getting cold. At this point I have been waiting and Chili’s parking lot for 45+ minutes.
I informed the manager that I thought this was beyond not OK, I shouldn’t have had to pay for that burger either. This one should have been on chilies after wasting 45 minutes with no communication. If someone had just come out and explained what had happened I could’ve asked that my food be remade as well (that should have been a given) and I would’ve happily left with two fresh dinners and some time wasted. Instead the manager told me he already took off the price of the fajitas we waited 45 minutes for he didn’t know what else he could do. I then informed him that if that’s what they thought was fair so be it at this point I just wanted to leave because I was livid!
This was a problem after problem that they handled poorly they were many times they could have and one part differently to make it acceptable the final part being having both dinners ready and hot at the same time. When I got home and opened our dinners (we also had dessert) apparently our ice cream had been sitting out as well because it was soup. And of course when I opened my hour old burger at that point, I didn’t even have any pickles with it. Literally the whole reason I go to chili’s. This is the most heinous sleep botched to go order I have literally ever gotten in my entire life. With a manager who has zero respect for your time we’re putting out a decent product. And I would highly doubt that food sitting out like that for as long as it did with dairy, both the cheese and the ice cream meets food handling...
Read moreWe had a large party, 10 people, and our server, Amanda, could not have been more phenomenal. She did an outstanding job of keeping our drinks and chip baskets full. With that being said the kitchen and Kyle, the manager, left a lot to be desired. Our party was seated by 6:00 pm and our orders placed by 6:10 pm. At 6:40, I asked Amanda if our food would be out soon, as we had tickets to a 7:00 pm movie. She said they were just plating it and it would be out soon. At 6:45pm, our soups and salad arrived at the table, and at 6:55 pm all of our meals but one came out. We all dug in, as we were trying to get to the theater before the actual movie started. At 7:05 pm, a different server came and brought two sides of fries to go with the meals that had previously been brought out, but still no 6oz sirloin. We asked him if it would be out soon, and he said he would check. We also asked him to have Amanda bring the check when she came back so we could pay and be out the door. Amanda came and saw that there was still no steak and headed back to the kitchen. At 7:18 pm, the manager, who we later learned was named Kyle, brought the steak to our table on a plate. Not only was it 23 minutes after everyone else’s food had come out, but it was over an hour from the time we ordered. The restaurant was not that busy. Kyle didn’t apologize for the late arrival, only asked who the meal went to. We kindly asked him if we could get a box for the meal, as we now didn’t have time to eat it. He ROLLED HIS EYES, HUFFED, and STOMPED back to the kitchen. He then sent a server with it to our table in a box, not even coming back to the table himself to bring it. His attitude and demeanor were totally unacceptable. He should have apologized and been polite when we asked for a box. The food should have been out all together and not one meal 23 minutes after the others. And it shouldn’t take over 40 minutes to get our food in a restaurant that isn’t that busy. Poor management and a poor attitude on Kyle’s part. DO BETTER Kyle, the only reason you are getting 2-3 stars is because of Amanda and the other server. It’s because of people like them that you have a job. You should...
Read moreMy husband and I with 4 of our grandchildren, at 6:30 pm.
It was upsetting when I received the bill, which I calculate 50% of our total went to pay four hostesses' hourly wages, that was paid out to them during our hour there, that I feel was not earned, but that is only my opinion as a paying customer. Our server was awesome but the upsetting part was four (4) hostesses standing at door w hands on hips laughing, giggling and having and great time and one even had her chin resting on the partial wall at the hostess station, making what I assume a decent hourly wage, while our wait staff were on a constant run. At the beginning of our meal, my granddaughter spilled her full drink, husband went to hostess table to ask for assistance, none of the 4 standing there had a clue on how to wipe up a table, I had lemonade dripping off onto my lap as one of the four holding like 2 paper towels walked right past our table to the back side of the dining room, after it finally dawned her she was at the wrong table, she walked back to our table dropping the two thin paper towels on top of the spilt drink and ice, swishing it back and forth without absorbing any from the table, she then laughed and said um... your sever will be rt here to help you! Wth!!! My husband grabbed a plate off of a dirty table and slide off what he could from the table top. All this time it had dripped all over our 5 laps and onto the floor. Our server hurried to help w adequate bar towels and properly cleaned up, as the 4 hostesses stood by the door resuming their laughing and giggling. And people wonder why the cost of eating out has increased so much!!! I'd think having four hostesses that weren't earning their pay would be some of the cause of the increase... I requested the sever not to give any of the tip I had left for him to any of the hostesses... watching the four of not doing a damn thing while our wait staff ran back and forth was really disheartening.... my family enjoying the food at Chilli's but after tonight we will not return, thanks to FOUR hostesses just standing around having gossip girl time while prices increase to pay their undeserved...
