Read moreI hear people saying often that Grand Junction lacks culture. I disagreed until I stepped foot in Jimmyz Burgers. The decor was dated back to 1979 and the restaurant looked as if it should be filled with Marlboro men wearing tall roped trucker hats, pearl snaps, and puffy vests ripping cigs and calling each other hoss, but it wasn't. It was scantly occupied at all, and those in the restaurant were unenthusiastic, so I pushed through the anesthetic and ordered the rock star burger and large fries. My burger was so well proportioned, every bite had bacon that was crispy enough to stay that way against the produce, big bites of green chiles, and mushrooms even though I had a magma flow of cheese melt into my basket my first bite. The 1/3lb patty was delicious and juicy. The French fries are hands down the perfect French fries...crispy golden with soft creamy pillows of potato inside that aren't dry. Not a hint of old oil flavor. You cannot find one single fault with them. I can't believe this place wasn't filled to the brim with people, but I suppose it's true that Grand Junction lacks a sense of culture and sophistication that would make someone bypass a $18 burger at a new trendy joint with aluminum stools and terrible music for this absolutely incredible gem. Grow up and...
Read moreI drove a school bus to Junction today, in which I was to drop off kids at CMU and then hang out tell the class was done with their trip and I would take them to eat and return home. I dropped the kids off went down to turn around and came back. The kids had mentioned they were thinking of this place to eat. As I returned to the parking lot looking for a place to park I was greeted by a gentleman that seen me driving through the park lot, note I am in the School Bus. He approached my window and proceeded to ask what I was doing, told him I had kids at CMU and just wanted to park. I was told I could not park the bus there I needed to park at the College as that is were my students are, it takes away customers, and it was Private property. I would have liked to have had the opportunity to eat here but since I drove a school bus I was judged, the school district will not ever attend this restaurant so that we do not take business away from it. So just an FYI for all school districts you can not park near this business as it is...
