85 Degree Celsius Cafe is located in Asia Time Square in the city of Grand Praire, TX, serving delicious cafes, cakes, and bread of the highest quality of ingredients made to every guest who comes through.
We dropped by on a weekend to pick up a couple of pastries and left with more than we planned. Inside was fairly crowded, but the staff sure knows how to provide excellent customer service by getting each guest in and out as quickly as possible by providing ample staff to accommodate the operation. All of the pastries and breads were fully stocked with the name of the item and price. The concept of ordering is as simple as picking up a clean tray or basket with tongs and choosing your specialty baked pastries. They offer many varietys and choices to choose from, such as chocolate croissants, taro bread, and egg custards, to name a few. They also have a chilled section providing puddings, strawberry shortcake, and parfaits. They also make birthday cakes or any kind of celebration cakes here such as ube cream cake, red velvet, mango creme Brule and many more! There are also individual slices of cake provided inside the refrigerator to choose from in case you didn't want to devour a whole cake. When placing your order, you also have the option of ordering one of the many drinks they serve here. They serve cafe, and many different lattes using Guatemalan coffee beans, and the name 85 degree Celsius actually comes from the idea that 85 degrees is the idea temperature to brew espresso coffee.
Overall, this is one of our favorite bakeries with over 1000 locations worldwide and the first US location opening in Irvine, CA, in 2008. They have over 50 varietys of pastries to choose from that are baked fresh daily. They also have an APP I highly recommend downloading to get the best bang for your buck with special deals and perks. There are also a couple of tables and chairs inside this newly built modern installation that is clean and parking is ample due to being in a...
Read moreI ordered a Coffee Creme Brulee cake this morning to celebrate my catâs birthday with my family, and had arranged to pick it up at 3pm. I had also requested a simple note to be included (which couldâve been written on a piece of paper) to wish my cat a happy birthday. To my surprise, I received a text saying my cake order had been rejected, with no explanation. I called right away to find out why, and the girl who answered explained that the cake should be picked up by 3pm considering how busy the bakery was at the time (10:35AM-11AM), but she wasnât sure why my order was rejected. After asking her team, I found out that the employee who handled my order simply refused it because they couldnât write my note as requested, claiming they âforgotâ to call me about it. I even went back to place the new order, and saw that they put the specific cake as âout of stockâ. Honestly, very frustrating. I had to refresh the page every few minutes to see if I could order the cake again. Thankfully I was able to.
I was frustrated by how poorly handled this was. Instead of rejecting the order outright, they could have at least called to ask if an alternative method for the note would work. It would have been a simple solution, but they didnât bother. The employee who spoke to me on the phone was apologetic, but the whole situation was disappointing.
As compensation, they gave me a free drink with my cake order, but honestly, that didnât make up for the lack of communication and poor customer service.
I expected more care and attention, especially for a special occasion. Definitely not the experience I...
Read moreHappy to have an 85ⰠBakery closer to me. This one is a little smaller than other ones I've been to but the variety of pastries to choose from are still there! There is seating but it's not much or as spacious as other ones.
I like that their items are not overly sweet & the prices seems pretty fair. I got six items for $15... chocolate bun, coffee milk butter bread, hokkaido bun, milk pudding bun, salted butter croissant, & some egg tarts. The two that were for me I enjoyed! The hokkaido bun has custard & cream, generous with the filling. I had the salted butter croissant the next day, popped it in the microwave for fifteen seconds & it was perfect. Also, it wasn't too buttery/greasy meaning that I've had some from other places that just left my napkins transparent, lol. Both were pastries were soft & fluffy!
It's in ATS, so at peak hours or weekends the parking lot can be a hot mess at times. It's still fairly new & they have maintained the cleanliness, restroom included. It's also nice that at this location everything is already individually wrapped. I've been to some where some are wrapped, some aren't, etc. I didn't ask but I got my items in a bag, not sure if there's a box option next time. That's convenient so things like the egg tarts or items that have toppings chocolate chips/sauces drizzled etc. don't get tossed around while being transported. Staff was friendly & overall it was a good experience, I've been here a few times & never...
