I ordered the #16 satay beef banh mi. They warm the bread and oil up the outside so it’s savory. The bread itself is fluffy on the inside and crunchy on the outside (which makes it good bread, the defining point for good banh mi in my opinion). The beef and chicken banh mis are $0.50 more expensive than the pork but there are multiple options available when choosing which of those you’d like, which is rarely seen in maybe stores (a lot of stores only have 1 option for beef or just don’t sell beef at all). They definitely sauce up the beef, so it’s not like you can barely taste the flavor. The beef itself was soft, not too leathery. They fatten up the banh mi. While I was eating it, I was thinking of how this is enough to keep me full.
This is an authentic Vietnamese store with Vietnamese speaking workers, a plethora of Asian appetizers, snacks, desserts, etc. They sell che, smoothies, green egg waffles with stuffing in the middle, candied exotic fruits, the striped jello, dried tamarind, candied sweet potato, even a whole industrial bucket of dawn dish soap.
I used to go to Ba Le for their beef satay banh mi but they’ve changed their beef flavor into lemon grass which I’m not a fan of. I like going to Bistro B for their buy one get one free banh mis and get the beef flavor but they always take a long time. At Banh Mi so1, they have buy 4 get the 5th free mix and match banh mis, che, and smoothies. This restaurant would be added onto my list of good...
Read moreI came here the 2nd time, first time bought like 6 sandwiches, gave to my family , they got sick & diarrhea from it. I called the restaurant, give them some feedback but didn’t put in the review. I want to give them a chance to improve. Came back today - bought 2 sandwiches, and a drink. Gave cash but then change to credit card right before the cashier took my cash , ask them to use credit card because they have a policy that you can pay credit card if total over 10 dollars. Cashier refuse to do it because she had already open the cash register. So i end up had to pay cash for it. And credit card for my drink but since just the drink using credit card and it is less than 10 dollar - they won’t take it & i had to go find extra cash some other place , when i ask why didn’t they just charge my credit card all together would be more than 10 dollar- they say no. So inflexible. Then i ask if they can heat up the sandwich, they say no. Poor businesses management- poor customer service. Won’t ever...
Read moreIt was my first time there, I happened to be around this place, was hungry and randomly chose it. I walked in at 9 not realizing they were closing b/c there were 2 GROUPS of ppl still in there. I was served by one rude lady. Instead of politely telling me that they were closed, she be like “what are you buying? Hurrying up just pick whatever”. And she was just laughing with the other groups who were her regulars. I apologized for not knowing although her attitude annoyed me. When I asked if they would take cards, she be like “no, we only take cards for $10 and above, why would we take cards for $5 transaction?”. I gave her a $5 bill and she gave me change all in coins (10 dimes and some penny) Another lady who handed me my food was nice and gentle. So this one star rating exists only because of that one rude lady. Managers should start paying attention to the behavior of their staffs. Or maybe it’s their culture to be rude and uneducated :) NEVER EVER COME...
