Golden Gate Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Grand Prairie

Food is probably some of the better chinese food in the area, but they can't package their food worth a crap. Every single time, be it delivery, or take out, the bottom of the bag is soaked with juice off the food. they package it so that the opening to the bag is on top and fill it with these large to-go trays that spill because the only way to put them in the bag is to turn them sideways... I have told them to turn the bag sideways and put the food in that way, but they would rather leak everything every where so they have a handle to carry it by. Laziness at its finest. How hard is it to put food in a bag without spilling it? The bottom of the bag gets so soaked that your food will literally fall thru the bottom of the paper bag if you have to go very far. Its gotten to the point I just don't even want to order from them because I don't feel like picking it up off the floor, or having to go back for a second order because the first one fell out, or cleaning juice off the bottom of my tray before I set it in my lap or on my table. I have explained this to them in person before and they cannot get it right. Too dumb, or too lazy. It may be more efficient for your delivery driver, but it is creating a hassle for...

I’ve been living in the Grand Prairie area for about two years. This is the first time trying out this restaurant. It is about five minutes from my house, but didn’t know about this place until searching on Google map. This is a family run business where everyone in the family helps out in the store, very similar to all the hard working small restaurant owners out there. I ordered a Togo order of large hot and sour soup and a large combination Singapore noodles. Both items were really good!!! The noodles cooked perfectly, not mushy like some of the places I have tried. The portion is good too in both the noodles and meats. I can even taste the “wok hay,” which is not easy to master for a quick meal. The soup was just right, good consistency with lots of mushrooms, wood-ear fungus, eggs, and bamboo shoots. I will definitely be back to try out other items. And as for some of the reviews mentioned about the lady taking the order, I found her to be very pleasant and respectful. I can tell that she takes pride of her work and trying her best to get everyone’s orders as quickly and correctly...

Nooooo! I had to take back stars and give yet another review after my most recent visit to this restaurant.... Yuck! So I had such a busy day at work on the day of my visit here. I spent the entire day on my feet with hardly any time to eat. I went to work on a empty stomach too. Well, I had a bag of trail mix to help me make it through my shift. After leaving work, I made it back home and realised I still had a lot that I needed to get done around my place with no time to cook. After finishing up a few things that I needed to get done I saw how it was getting late when I decided I really need to eat. So I decided to revisit this restaurant for a good meal... And it was anything but a good meal. I ordered two main courses (because I was that hungry) and it wasn't until I got half-way through eating everything that I discovered a long string of hair mixed up with my food that I stopped eating and left. I got home and could not "hold it down". It was my only meal for day and it was a waste of my money and nutrition.
