PLEASE READ BEFORE GOING HERE!!!! 6 months later I have to edit all the good things I said about this place. Went here last Friday and my husband and I were the only customers at about 2pm and still got bad service. On top of that, days later when our card got charged it was for more than what was originally signed for. The waitress ( MING, I believe is her name) gave herself a higher tip than originally given. We went Monday and talked to a manager, he gave us a call back today. The manager agreed something went wrong, and tried to cover for her and say “it was an accident”. It wasn’t . He tried to give us the difference but theft is theft! Keep your receipts when you come here till after the charge goes through and make sure it’s correct. This was the first time we paid our tip by card instead of cash and this happened. We would come here at least 2 times a month. Once a month as a family and Spend at least $140 and then my husband and I come by ourselves once a month and spend about $50. So all in all we spend $200 here a month and tip $10 minimum. Not anymore.
This post here was my original post made 6 months ago- This place is good! We get the Cajun mild Special Lovins family order once a month and feeds all 6 of us just fine. One of the girls was rude and didn’t even want my family as her customers so she switched us off to another girl, which honestly was fine by us. I know the girl she switched us off to was confused cause we were good customers, cleaned up after ourselves and even tipped more than 20% of our bill. There’s always a bad apple, it’s been the only time we’ve ever had a problem there since they been open in Grand Prairie, but I do still...
Read moreHad a taste for some seafood, this isn't my usual spot but went with my boys for something different. Was helped by a young man named Lu, he was very helpful explained things helpfully and successfully placed my order. Everything was correct when it came out, and the appetizers he reccomended was a good pick also!* I will say in advance that we had abt a 10 min drive home so my personal opinion on the fried food dishes are based on not the freshest fried food*) experience, but it's still honest** Myself and my youngest opted for the boiled seafood, my oldest opting for fried seafood. The boiled seafood, great on point! Flavors were good, and cooked well. The fried, not my favorite. He had Fried Oysters & Calamari.. ..not my favorite by far due to me not being big on fried foods period. I felt the flavor wasn't there as expected, he however did enjoy the oysters didn't care much for their style of calamari. OH!!!!! The appetizer. ....we got the appetizer that had the egg rolls, fries & hush puppies. The flavor was definitely there with the egg rolls and I personally love hush puppies! The French fries were ok, but on the drive home ......yea u already know. Overall, it was good! And would return. I took my food to go, however the restaurant was open for dine in, and there were people inside eating. Social distancing was definitely a factor when seated, as no one was in close proximity. Mask are required to enter, however can be removed upon seating...
Read moreAs a seafood enthusiast, I was excited to try King Crab House in Grand Prairie, and overall, the experience had its highs and lows.
We ordered a mix of items, including the crispy shrimp roll, garlic bread, Cajun fried rice, Triple Your Lovin’s, and the fried catfish basket. The flavors of most dishes were spot on—the Cajun fried rice was well-seasoned, the shrimp roll had a satisfying crunch, and the garlic bread was a comforting side. However, the fried catfish basket was a major disappointment.
Instead of catfish, what was served appeared to be basa or swai, which is not an acceptable substitution, especially for those who appreciate the distinct taste and texture of real catfish. When I brought this to the manager’s attention, the response lacked the level of concern I expected from a seafood restaurant that prides itself on quality.
I sincerely hope King Crab House takes this feedback seriously and ensures that menu items are served as advertised. For catfish lovers like me, this is a dealbreaker. I’d love to return and explore more of their menu, but consistency and authenticity matter—and if that’s not maintained, they risk losing loyal...
