We went on family fun day Friday for the price of 130. This includes a large pepperoni pizza, 4 sodas, 20 dollars worth of arcade gameplay, and admission for 4. 3 and under is free. Parking was free. When you place your online order for family fun day, it will state that entrance is at 4. This is not the case as we confirmed with ticketing on the phone that you can enter at any time on Friday. The thing is, you can not pick up your pizza and drinks until 4PM or later. So plan accordingly. The pizza was school lunch flavored pizza if that makes sense. Can’t remember if the drinks were refillable as we didn’t need to refill. We arrived on a day where there were tons of school buses due to a field trip. But we had just arrived at 3PM as all the school children were leaving between 3-4PM. So keep that in mind also if you’re not trying to go when crowded or rowdy. Which was our concern having a 15 month old along with a 5 year old. We were having lots of fun until an attendant told us we couldn’t have our 15 month old in the floater that we brought. Pictures attached. Mind you, she had enjoyed floating in the lazy river for over an hour already, going back and forth from the toddler area to the lazy river. So knocked off a star for taking away my infants enjoyment. Also, can’t put your toddler on your shoulder for even a quick picture. We weren’t rough housing, just wanted a picture. This was in the pool that’s 5 foot deep with basketball hoops but no balls to actually use for them. For the toddler side, my husband got to take my 5 year old up and go down the slide with her. That’s allowed apparently and I’m so happy about that because my 5 year old wouldn’t go down the slide at all unattended. So huge plus for that! Now to get on the bigger slides, you have to wait in a line to get a tube from someone who has just come down and is done riding, if they they’re not done, they obviously wont give you the slide. When you finally get a slide, then you can take it up the stairs to wait in line to go down the slide. We found that weird, but manageable since the wait wasn’t long. Might be different if it was crowded though. Towards the end, we got a funnel cake, 10” churro, and a hand baked cookie. Funnel cake put my husband in a better mood after having to take my infant out of the lazy river. It’s nothing fancy, just powdered sugar on top. But husband enjoyed it. Cookie was okay, lots of chocolate chip, but churro was kinda stale. Cleaning up, there are showers (5 stalls) that you can rinse or shower in that have curtains. I was able to fit me, my toddler, and our bags in the shower and change comfortably. It’s VERY spacious! No lines. Bathrooms were also clean. Wet of course given that it’s a Waterpark, but clean. We were considering a cabana, but at 300…NO WAY! There’s plenty of room when I went to sit down at a table and leave your stroller and belongings. Get a small locker for high ticket items such as phone, keys, and wallet just in case though. Don’t want to ruin the day by losing either one of those. Would have been perfect if infant was allowed in the...
Read moreWe have been to Epic Waters 4 or 5 times since they opened. If we lived closer we would visit more frequently. This is the second year in a row my son has chosen to visit for his birthday. Our experience every time has been great.
I had to take a minute to write a review specifically today because I was very grateful for the exemplary customer service.
Since it had been about a year since we last visited I wanted to remind myself if there was a price difference if I purchased the tickets online or at the door. The website did not reflect anywhere at all that the tickets would be $5 more is purchased at the door instead of online. (Side note: May I suggest that the website be updated to make this information CRYSTAL clear. Tickets purchased at the door will be $40 instead of $35 if purchased online.) So, assuming the price would be the same I planned to purchase our tickets at the door since I had planned to use cash anyway.
Only upon arrival was I made aware of the price difference. Overall $5 is not a huge difference but, if you're purchasing several (as I was for my son's birthday) it can be a significant increase.
Overhearing our interaction with the cashier and the gradual disheartening of myself and a seemingly onset of an adolescent meltdown the manager, Tony, came over to see how he could help. He was very professional, jovial, and easily approachable. He was authentically sincere in his goal to provide some compensation for the misunderstanding to quickly get us to the whole purpose for our visit. To allow my son and his friend to begin celebrating his birthday and of course having fun.
Tony left momentarily and returned quickly to offer to compensate one of the three tickets I was going to purchase more than making up for the potential price difference. A well skilled manager at a venue solely meant to be for amusement understands that a little bit of sacrifice on their part does not admit or even suggest to admit guilt of the misinformation on the website. In all likelihood the water park's website, which is actually owned and maintained by the City of Grand Prairie, is not maintained at their level anyway.
The staff over all has always been professional and friendly in our experience. But for today, big accolades to Tony who did an excellent job of quickly diffusing a potentially poor experience into a great one. After an already tiring day consisting of a very early morning, hours of reveling in the presence of about 140 middle school students during an 8th grade field trip (of which I chaperoned and was attended by both children in my possession) I was extremely grateful. And this is why we will return and continue to recommend Epic Waters.

Read moreDisclaimer: I didn’t get to enter the water park, so my review isn’t about the park itself. My Review is about the unprofessional part (for lack of better words), that ruined a day for my family’s spring break.
For Spring break this past year, my family of 8 decided to drive 2 states away to Texas. To prepare I called and reserved all the tickets I needed to before arrival, scheduled the times that I’d be there, etc.
I called this water park a little over a week before spring break, and asked if their carload deal on Thursday night would be offered at the entrance, since making reservations online was no longer available for me to purchase ahead of time on the website. I have a large family of 8, this carload deal would widely benefit me. The staff was polite over the phone and told me I would be able to still do the Thursday carload deal, $99 a carload (6 people). My youngest 2 are small enough they get in free.
So I scheduled our trip around the water park being the first thing we do on spring break, I book a hotel for a night earlier than originally planned, so we can do the Thursday deal, and when the time comes we drove 2 states over Wednesday night to make sure we would get plenty of rest to prepare for our Thursday at the water park.
We stand in line with our family of 8, plus one (a kiddo brought a friend), and when we get to the front we’re told there is a wait to get in. Which is completely fine. Staff is still polite. However, they then told us they won’t be honoring the Thursday $99 carload deal, because of how busy it is. AND the price of tickets also went up $10. I mentioned what the staff had told me over the phone, but of course that didn’t matter. We were going to be able to take our family to the pool for $99 (2 littles for free, our friend brought their own $), but now the price would be $400+ for us to enjoy the water park. I saved money to go on this trip, and I did not save enough for $60 per person, without it taking away from something else we already planned for the week.
So unfortunately for my family, our first day of our spring break we drove back to our hotel wearing dry swimming suits. My 2 toddlers completely confused and sad. Our older kids bummed completely. It was a sad way to begin our trip. We don’t drive 2 states away from home often, so it’s not something we’ll be able to just swing back by to try to experience. In my opinion, it’s completely unprofessional that the staff told me completely wrong over the phone, and that it’s not put on the website anywhere that on a day that’s too busy, they stop honoring their deals.
I know the staff was doing their jobs, but I feel like better communication would have prevented me, and I’m sure the several other families walking away, some head...
