My family and I have visited taqueria Mexico many times since Covid. There are many reasons why my family keep patronizing this business so I will try and keep this review short and just tell you the top reasons (at least for us). My most recent trip was the end of February and I was realizing that we come here regularly for life’s big moments to celebrate. Atmosphere/Capacity. We have never had to wait for a table; there is plenty of space and they seat you immediately. The restaurant decor is beautiful and even when it is busy the water features make it feel more intimate and private. Food quality. Second to none for Mexican food. Period. We like many other restaurants in town that offer different cuisine but hands down this is the best Mexican food in the city. The bar has stocked good liquor and they know how to work with it. The drinks are fast and fabulous. Portions are huge. We have tried at least a dozen menu items and never been served anything that wasn’t spectacular. The same goes for the drinks. The avocado margarita is my favorite. For food, you have to try the barbacoa tacos or the fajita burrito. They taste even more beautiful than they look. Service. The staff here has not turned around at all. To me, that tells me they’re doing something right. As an example from our most recent trip, my wife and I had already ordered food and they had already brought us drinks. Food was less than ten minutes, during that time frame 3 different people came and asked if we needed more chips. We didn’t want any more because the food was coming (and the portions are HUGE) so when I told the third person no thank you but that I appreciated being asked and he was the third one to do so he asked if he could remove the basket so I wouldn’t have to politely decline again. There is one server there that treats you better than your own momma. She always asks you what you liked, tries to recommend things you’d enjoy. She’s got a great people sense about her. It makes you feel like you are part of the family. My feelings there are always that they want you to enjoy yourself, make you happy and smile, eat until you are full and most importantly that they want you there. At some businesses the employees make you feel like they are just there for the paycheck and you are an inconvenience to them. This could not be further from the truth with this place they have accommodated many requests for changing food options for my picky sons without any problem or grief ever. Value. This place is on the pricier side and I’m certain many people will gripe about that or be turned off about this place because of it. I get that, but hear me out, me I’d rather come here twice than anywhere else three times. You get what you pay for, so to me for the reasons I listed above (service, atmosphere, food quality, portion size) there are hardly any other businesses that deliver this...

First time going to sit down for dinner here. Taqueria won't disappoint.

Right off the bat, the service is fun, friendly, and genuine. Not that pretend to be nice Menasha of a paycheck feeling. The server was friendly and attentive.

The atmosphere would probably be a 4, but the surprisingly cleanness of everything bumped it to a 5 for me. If a business puts time into maintaining cleanliness, it's a good sign as to how they value integrity, in my opinion.

The food... they killed it, and it came out quickly.

I had the Pollo de creama, while I could have had just a TAD more chicken, the cream - was - incredible. I'm not sure what is different about the beans and rice, but even the sides stand out. My partner had camaron al mojo de aho, and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. We ended up dipping her shrimp in the cream from my meal and just sat there smiling.

To finish the date, we also got some dessert. My partner got cheesecake with berry syrup, and it was better than I expected from a Mexican restaurant. I got, and I very highly recommend, the flan. I am from Southern OK, and worked a lot of construction with my Hispanic friends who would cook food me close to daily. The flan, and I hate to say it, was better than my friends. There's a wonderful lady that works at (possibly owner? I'm not sure) Taquera that makes it from home.

I will say, this was not a cheap meal by any means, but it was definitely worth it.

Also for note, be prepared to have to look for parking unless you come at odd hours. (As with anything just...

Had a pretty great service and food here! I was surprised at how upscae the resteraunt was..its a biiit spendy but it IS very good food with a focus on presentation. Definitely more than i expected for what looks like a sort of hole in the wall place from the outside. Atmosphere was great accept the music. For some reason they were playing a bunch of pop music or modern hits or something? Very strange choice for a place thats setting an atmosphere of high end mexican food. I had the chicken mole and and very berry margarita. The mole sauce was top notch with a focus more on the cinnamon side rather than peanutbutter side ive had some mole present with. My only complaint was you didnt really get much actual chicken for the steep price of about 24 bucks. I got maybe 1/2 a chicken breast worth of chicken? The rice it came with was white? Which ive never seen from a mexican resteraunt, but it was VERY well cooked and well flavored! It had a slight nacho cheese flavor to it somehow?

Over all ide recommend it as a great high end mexican resteraunt to spend a special...

This is my Mom’s favorite Mexican food in Southern Oregon and it is quickly becoming mine as well. Everything I’ve ordered here in the past two years (I’m a recent arrival to the area, long time visitor short time resident) has been delicious and well plated. I highly recommend the Chile Colorado, not many places in town serve Chile Colorado and very few do it well, Taqueria Mexico does it the best here in Grants Pass! The restaurant is decorated in a comfortable and colorful manner with a beautifully colorful chandelier- see photos- as the centerpiece of the main dining room. The women’s restroom is decorated in the cutest way. The bar is lovely with friendly bartenders and good seating. I perfect place to meet with friends before heading next door to the theater for a show, literally next door. Can’t beat that for a rendezvous spot.
