I'm so excited to see a proper soda fountain on Main St. Absolutely love seeing a proper piece of my childhood.
So first, the ice cream. It's really good. I mostly just wanted to try some different kinds so I got the 3 junior scoops boat with Bees Knees (honey and lavender), TX Honey Whiskey, and Cinful Oats. Bees Knees was my sister's favorite, although she said the lavender was was really muted. I would agree. It's about bees so the honey should be the dominant flavor but the lavender was mostly just in the color. The Cinful Oats is good but it gets overwhelming with the chocolate shavings and oats. I think it would be better without the chocolate but that's just personal preference. The TX Honey Whiskey was my absolute favorite, but my sister was not a fan. I would for sure have that one again.
It's a cute place, though I'm not sure I like the brick painted all white. It was better not painted, but maybe the business before them had painted it. I remember it the natural color, might have been worth trying to take it back to that. But it's bright and cheery so I'm sure that will win plenty of people over. Plus the girl behind the counter was really nice and constantly in motion. Decent crowd for a Friday before 2pm.
Overall, great quality ice cream; looking forward to trying their Egg Cream or...
Read more2024-11-02 This establishment has a multitude of flavors. Just a a personal level of measurement, as I am partial to anything cinnamon, they have at least 4 or 5 flavors that contain cinnamon.
If you have a particular flavor that suits you, chances are you won't be disappointed.
However, you will be disappointed at the price.
They sell this their scoops by weight, and a "Braums Sized Scoop" will run you around $8. You can catch 2 Ben and Jerry's pints at times for $3-$4 each (Kroger, Albertsons)
The atmosphere has somewhat of an old timey Ice Cream Shoppe.... they tried. You can only do so much, I suppose, with the space given. However, having the employees dress in the "Old Timey" soda shoppe would lend itself to the overall vibe... perhaps even leaning towards some "50s" decorations to really bring it all together.
Overall, great selection of flavors and products, friendly and smiling employees decent place to sit and enjoy your ice cream.
Side Note: as we were leaving, the music they had playing began to spout vulgarity and profanity. (Killing in the Name Of).
Some 50s music, combined with the some decor, would really...
Read moreMy three kids and I have been loyal Kilwins customers (across the street) for 5 years, but thought I’d try out this new ice cream shop tonight. The door was open, I walked in, there were people eating, people being served, multiple people behind the counter. They told me they’re closed and to leave. Not even polite about it. I asked if they could make just one more cone… the guy was still scooping for another customer! They said “we’re closed.”
I respect that they were closed. But the door was open. They were still serving ice cream. It’s bad business to rudely turn someone away. I will never come back.
Edited for manager: this is June 6, 2025. I recommend customer service training...
