I come here today to say that, although I love Olive Garden. My experience at this location was not 100% perfect. And that is OK. Normally when thereâs too many mistakes, I eventually boil over and give the worst review. But it is different.
Today is November 11, 2024 Veterans Day. Came to Olive Garden tonight by myself to enjoy the free Veterans Day meal. Which I usually do every year since I joined the army. There has been issues in the past at different locations, but still I continue to show up because I do love Olive Garden.
When I got here today, I was seated immediately. My server came in introduced herself. I asked her if I could move to the other table that had just emptied because it was a booth and I preferred a booth. She had to check with her team and once it was approved, I got up and switch seats. Iâve been told her I would like to get a water with lemon and then I asked a couple questions in regards to the menu. Normally the menu changed a little bit. I wasnât sure which I wanted. I was stuck between the fettuccine Alfredo or the chicken Parm with spaghetti. Depending on the price I was going to either add chicken and shrimp to my Alfredo or just get the chicken Parm.
Natalie went to be back to find out the prices to add on items to the meal. She returned to my table fairly quickly. She said for both the chicken and shrimp. It would be around $4 and some change each. So I decided to just go with the chicken Parm. I placed my order and she went to the kitchen and brought me breadsticks and a little bit later my soup came out. Everything was coming out so quickly.
I finished the soup pretty stuffed. I waited around on my phone for my entry to come out. It never did. Throughout the time she came over and checked in to make sure I was OK and told me that she would go and check on my food for me. During the visits, I also ordered a strawberry spiked lemonade. With everything that was going on unfortunately she forgot about the lemonade. But with the time going past, and my entrée still not being brought to me eventually another server came over and verified my order. In that moment, when I realize that there was a mistake made. She went back to the kitchen and then that one of the managers, Chavan came over and apologize for the inconvenience and told me how bad she felt. I appreciate her being genuine and trying to rectify the situation.
Even after speaking to the manager the food still took a lot longer to come out. I believe Natalie got worried so I saw her less. She eventually came back to the table. I did inform her that she is perfectly fine. Apologize genuinely but I could tell that she looked like she wanted to cry. Chavan came over and brought me some more water and also offered me a dessert.
All this to say but yes, there were some things that went wrong, but their customer service was absolutely amazing. The teamwork to try to fix what happened definitely made my day. Natalie, if you ever see this, I hope you truly understand how amazing you are. Some servers would have just given up while others would have not even apologized. Keep being your authentic self because honestly, there is a bright future ahead of you. And for manager Chavan you are an amazing leader. And your employees are very lucky to have you. Just remember not every table will be perfect. But even with a not perfect table, there are perfect managers and perfect service that make everything just the way it supposed to be.
In the end, I still gave Natalie a tip. And I still left a comment for her in the kiosk and I really hope that she gets it one day. Restaurant should have a server like Natalie and a manager like Chavan.
Ps. I hope I still up both of their names, correct. đ
Ps. I ended up getting my entre and dessert Togo because I was...
Read moreI've loved OG for years but I am not a fan of the new layout and decor of the restaurants. It takes away the appeal the old style had. That aside, I was unimpressed with this location sadly. We were sat in the very back room where there was only one other table with guests. It felt like we were away from everyone, not intentional of course, but it added to the experience. Our waiter was rushing us at first. We barely sat down and he was there to take our drink order, then quickly returned to take our food order and we hadn't been seated a minute or two. He entered my wine into the kiosk and then disappeared for a bit. Once he returned and we ordered it was quickly brought out. I am a big fan of the Steak Gorgonzola Alfredo and was ecstatic to see it brought back but was seriously disappointed in their dish. My steak pieces were great but the noodles tasted like they had freezer burn. When it was time to pay our waiter said to just pay on the kiosk because it was faster. I had a gift card and it was giving me trouble. When the waiter came by I told him and he said oh no it took it off. I was telling him it didn't because my total hasn't changed and he simply said oh it did and told us to have a good night. I calculated my total just to be sure and my total was the same so the card didn't go through. Then it got to where the kiosk would no longer work and I called the server. After several minutes he arrived, took my cards, and snapped he'd go do it manually. He then came back with my card and said he'd gotten the gift card and told me to pay the rest on the kiosk. I then asked him if he could clear it because the kiosk wasn't working. He grumpily checked it and then saw there was a problem with it so he snapped again he'd go do it manually, which is what he said the first time. After another several minutes he returned, told me how to fill out the receipt, making me feel like I'm an idiot, and then stomped away. He had been rushing us from the get go, then disappeared and we waited for drink refills and for help with the check. I'm not sure if he was having a bad night or if that is his normal, but he definitely doesn't need to be a waiter. I would not recommend this Olive Garden at all. Very disappointed and hopefully it was just a bad...
Read moreWe stopped to eat here yesterday around 2. Super excited because our kids love pasta and it was our last stop before checking in to wolf lodge after a 4hr drive. Right away we seemed like an inconvenience⊠there was 8 of us including 6 kids ages 11,6,6,20m,9m and 9m. The lady at the front didnât know where to sit us and we waited which was fine it was the smirk that she made when we asked for 3high chairs. Then the waitress came and said to my husband that she had us so we started to follow her and the table wasnât ready when she was asked by a coworker what was going on she said in a condescending tone that she told us she had us but that we just started following her and the table wasnât ready we must have just not understood her so she started talking to us in Spanish like if we didnât speak English. But she didnât tell us to wait or give her more time she looked right at us and said she had us. Once we were finally seated she asked my husband if all the kids were his not once looked at me when she asked which I thought was very rude. He answered yes they are and she laughed and said it was a really big family. That made us a bit uncomfortable bc it made it seem like it was a bad thing to have so many kids. Then my toddler accidentally dropped his soda. I cleaned up the ice went and got napkins and dried it to the best of my ability. My husband informed her just so she knew what had happened. She said âthere is nothing I can do about it nowâ and walked off she did not bring us an extra cup nor refills. The whole time she only refilled my sons cup and that was it. We ended up leaving not finishing our food nor taking to go plates bc it was just a humiliating experience. Having kids in any amount shouldnât be an issue. And asking my husband If all the kids are his was rude. We plan on going back to wolf lodge in the future and will stick to the restaurant...
