First, I hate to write this review. I have liked this small chain restaurant very much over the years. My wife and I have not eaten at Palio’s for a while. We passed through Grapevine and decided to stop for lunch. My wife got a sandwich. I ordered the Hawaiian Sunrise pizza. To sum it up, everything here at the restaurant was difficult. It was difficult to place an order. It was difficult to understand the employee. My wife’s sandwich was good. My pizza was somewhat tasty, but it was very difficult to eat. With each piece, the island (like Hawaii?) of toppings, en mass, separated from the crust with every bite. A fork and knife were useless in getting this haphazard pizza under control. It was necessary to let greasy hands do all the work. It was necessary to go to the stingy and awkward napkin dispenser at the far end of the restaurant to retrieve additional napkins to deal with this mess of fallen toppings and greasy hands.

Little Caesars is better. My husband and I decided to stop by after a going to a nearby holiday event because I wanted pizza. It's was not busy for a Friday night, we walked up to register and looked at the paper menu they have. The lady at the register was in a rush to take our order. We ordered a Fresh Margherita pizza, loaded fried and 2 drinks. The lady told us our total and walked away. We paid and were left just standing there, another lady came and asked us if we needed anything else. We're like our drinks? She said the cups and drinks are in the back. Like we're supposed to know that?? Hmmm... Now, let's talk about the pizza (more like Flatbread) VERY thin crust and no flavor, it's cut into small squares. Overall, it was our first and last time. Little Caesars is better...

The pizza is okay. The pizza is priced well for the sizes available. My only complain is that the pizza tasted bland. We tried the Scorcher. It was suppose to have spicy red sauce, I couldn’t taste it. The crust looks good and has a nice texture, but also nearly flavorless. The sweetness of the corn was okay. Dipping the pizza in ranch was the only way to make it taste good. I’d say Dominos or Pizza Hut is much better than this place. Also one of the young lady working was kind of rude. I had a Groupon and the cashier didn’t tell me to mark it redeemed. As I was trying to pay, this other girl came up and told me to mark it redeemed. Then we over heard the one girl accusing me of going to use the Groupon again. Wasn’t my intentions, so I don’t appreciate that.

My family and I decided to visit Grapevine Hilton Hotel for the 4th of July and it's festivities. With the evening approaching my children decided that they were hungry for pizza. We decided that based off the pricing of the website in comparison to the normal commercialized pizza restaurant we will go with Palio's. Palio's had their pizzas list it at 9.99 for their large pizzas. So not only did I experience an extended wait time exceeding 8 minutes, which was totally unexpected, even though it was a holiday. I got the run around for about 20 minutes arguing back and forth between the manager name Katie that there was some type of up charge that was ringing my total close to to 30 bucks for two pizzas when the website was showing $9.99 per Pizza. Not only did she make me feel as though hours misleading or being deceptive but she would not believe what I was stating until I asked her to pull up the website on her phone which was Palio's Grapevine. Com. After she realized that I was speaking fact not once did she offer to discount the order but she tried to say that her manager was an hour out and wasn't able to be contacted to try to help remedy the situation. Needless to say the least after all it said and done I bought the pizzas due to the inconvenience of time and hunger for my children. This is totally based off of customer service experience. this is what makes it not worth it to help the small business. She could have offered to comp at least one pizza for the inconvenience but she...

VERY AVERAGE. Where to start. The good: a quaint well decorated cafe. The food fair is a little pricey even for a so called "artisan" pizza place. A large pizza will run about $15.99 and for that you get a 12" cracker thin crust pizza that is short on sauce, cheese and pizazz. In fact, the pizza is completely unremarkable. Granted, the menu offers interesting pizza toppings such as cashews and cranberries. So maybe one of those exotic flavor combinations might be more exciting but given the lack of the basics (sauce, cheese, crust) I doubt it.

The BAD: The place isn't well maintained. There were food particles on the tables, floors and on the seats of the booths. Napkins on the floor and under tables. I would expect this from Cici's pizza but for the price paid here, it's really unacceptable. Considering I visited at 2:40 in the afternoon, with only two other patrons in the place and staff standing around the place should have been spotless. When it comes to food I take attention to details seriously. If the public area of the stoor looks dirty, I hesitate to think what the food prep area looks like. To the establishments credit a girl did come out to start cleaning a few of the tables off...with Pledge. I'm pretty sure the health department requires something a little stronger.

Verdict: nothing new here or special. The pizza is average at best with slightly above average prices. I see no reason to come back or recommend this...

I recently visited Palio’s Pizza Cafe in Grapevine and had an incredibly disappointing experience. The behavior of Aaron at the register was unprofessional and rude. He didn’t greet us warmly and seemed dismissive, especially compared to how he treated the customer behind us. It felt as though he didn’t want to serve us at all.

When I placed my order, he asked if I wanted to add any drinks, and I declined. He then directed me to the back of the restaurant for water, making a point to emphasize that I could only fill the glass with water—not anything else. His tone was unnecessarily harsh and condescending, as if he was expecting me to fill the glass with something else.

The food itself was okay, but the overall experience was soured by poor customer service. As we were finishing our meal around 9:50 PM, a staff member came up to us and rudely informed us that the restaurant closed at 10:00 PM and we needed to finish immediately. The way he communicated this was not only impolite but also unsettling.

I've been a loyal customer of this location for over 10 years, but after this visit, I won't be returning. It’s disappointing to encounter such unprofessional behavior at a place I’ve enjoyed for so long. I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s had a negative experience, and I expected much better from Palio’s...
