This place is a joke. You are much better off driving to the original Just Subs in Hillsborough.
They hardly give you any food at this location, when you point out that they didn’t give you as much as you normally get at the Hillsborough location, they charge you for extra meat without telling you they are doing that... and then they run out of bread hours before closing on a Saturday night? Not only do they run out of bread, but they decide to not even serve people wanting to get platters without bread? The least they could do is put a sign on their door that says “closed” and lock it so the customer doesn’t have to walk in and deal with the rude attitudes from the employees..
Editing to respond to the owner:
In the past we have been to this location and the employees give half the amount of meat on the sub than other locations give. We typically frequent the Hillsborough location and have never had this problem there. When I questioned the amount of meat, they added more and then charged me for extra meat, even though the amount given is what it should have been originally.
Today we arrived to the location more than an hour before closing. There was a large sign on the door that said “out of bread. Sorry”. No problem, I was ordering a tuna platter with no bread. I walked in and the entire staff had already cleaned and informed me that they close early when they run out of bread. I said, “but I am not getting anything with bread”. They looked at me and said, “but we already cleaned up and we don’t want to re open things”. I said, “but you don’t close for another hour..” I did point out that they need to put a closed sign on the door and lock them if they are going to stop serving instead of wasting people’s time.
I understand a sub shop without bread doesn’t make sense, but it’s confusing that a sub shop would run out of bread so early in the summer on a Saturday night.. in addition, it was a group of all high school aged teens who had the store completely cleaned well before closing. Not sure if the Pizza we saw delivered to them just before walking in had anything to do with them wanting to...

Don't attempt to get hot food. And don't order it for delivery either. If you try to get a hot chicken sub, you'll discover it is room temperature cuts. Of course, that happens once you already get home with it, when home is 2 minutes down the road. (My experience 3 weeks ago when I ordered in-store.) If you order a Pork Roll Egg and Cheese breakfast sub for delivery, it will turn out they somehow ran out of eggs. I don't know how that happens when you order 20 minutes after the store opens, but apparently they ran out of eggs 20 minutes into being open. They won't tell you, or call you with the provided phone number. They will simply double the size of the cold Turkey sub and think that's "just fine" and have the delivery driver surprise you with it. That would be cool if I really wanted two turkey subs, but I ordered two different things for a reason. I ordered a breakfast sub at breakfast for the sake of having a breakfast sub in the morning and saving the other 6" sub for later. To just make the 6" turkey sub a 12" as a complete surprise is actually ridiculous.
I will say that when I get normal subs the amount of sandwich you get is above average.. But that is relative and in range of the amount you are paying. The quality of the produce they use is par/above average. This just leads to me being even more disappointed that what was just recently my favorite place to eat is now my least favorite place to order from.
Out of the 10+ experiences of ordering here, the only ones that go remotely well are ordering typical subs. If you try to get anything off their menu that isn't a typical sub, you will be disappointed.
I will not expect to go here and have it be competitive or even in the same league as chain stores like Jersey Mike's (the bar is very low, clearly,) ever again at this point. You should...
Read moreI don't like doing this anymore than the management of Just Subs likes reading it.
2 months ago I placed an order with Just Subs in Green Brook. I placed an order for a cheesesteak sandwich and requested AND paid for extra meat. When I arrived home and opened my sandwich - there was no extra meat. In fact there wasn't enough meat for a regular sandwich. I called the next day and left a message for the manager and was never called back. I subsequently forgot about it and went on with life.
Fast forward until today, August 6, 2024. I wanted a cheesesteak as did my wife. Like the dumba*(&es we are - we called Just Subs again and ordered the same thing as two months ago. I ordered extra meat again. This time when I went to eat my sandwich - there was less meat on it then last time I ordered there. I tried to call them again - and no answer.
I am writing this to tell you that if you want a REAL sub - don't order from Just Subs in Greenbrook. Go hungry. It's better to feel the pain of hunger than the pain of being robbed.
Did i mention that with their delivery fees - the price, including tip, was 74.00 for two sandwiches and a large macaroni salad.
Simply just don't go there....it...
