0 Stars - Absolutely terrible experience. Avoid this place. This business is a train wreck from top to bottom.
I booked the "Prison Room" in the morning for 1:20 p.m. for my older kids (9 and 6) and me. They were so excited. This was our big "day off" activity since their younger sibling was in school while they had off, and we rarely get to do things like this with him in tow. We ran errands, drove 20 minutes to Green Brook, and arrived right on time for our big activity of the day.
The employee, John, told me the room we booked was "medium level." He admitted that this information is not listed anywhere on the website and suggested we try an easier room instead because of the kids' ages. That easier room would be ready in about 20 minutes, so we thanked him and decided to wait.
Twenty-five minutes later, John told me he was finally getting it ready for us, only to return and say, "Oh, someone is trying to book it online right now. I should have blocked it off for you... I need to see if they complete the booking before I can let you in."
Um. What???
Well... They booked it.
He shrugged and said there was nothing he could do because "they already paid." I reminded him that I also already paid, hours ago, and that we had been sitting there waiting for that room at his suggestion. I told him the obvious move here was to call them, explain it was an error and the room isn't actually open, and offer them a different room. I actually heard him call and tell the other group that another customer wants that room but they could keep it if they wanted since they already paid, he just wanted to call and ask. Their call, of course. Unsurprisingly, they kept it. My six year old could have handled it better. Absolutely incompetent!
After sitting there for almost an hour, John informed me that now my only options were to come another day or try the "hard" or "super hard" rooms. When I said this was unacceptable, he just repeated, "They already paid." Over and over. I could not believe this was real life.
By that point my kids were so upset and I could not listen to him say "they already paid" one more time. His ineptitude was beyond frustrating. So yes, I went full Karen, said choice words I don’t regret and asked for a manager. Manager Pablo got on speakerphone and offered free passes to come back another day. I was furious and don't plan to go back, but he was clearly not going to fix John's mistake so I said fine, as long as I also got a refund ASAP since we never actually got to do anything today. His response? "Well no, it's one or the other." How is that a free pass if I do not get refunded for today? Are these people ok??? He reluctantly agreed to both after more back and forth.
Still reeling from how ridiculous this all was, I asked John for the owner's information. He gave me the number for Greg, the district manager.
When we left I called Greg, and somehow it got even worse. He told me that John never should have switched us because the "easy" room is done in the dark and the "medium" one we originally booked is in the light, so actually more age appropriate. So not only did John give us bad advice, but ruined our entire day because of it.
When I told Greg how angry I was about John and how absurd my conversation with Pablo had been, he said I must have misunderstood Pablo since "English is not his forte." That was incredibly insulting, both to me and to his own manager, because Pablo's English was perfectly clear. Then Greg got defensive and told me I was just calling to complain, that John was trying to help, and that I should have just done the room I booked in the first place. The same room his employee told me not to do. Again, are these people ok???
From top to bottom, this place is a joke. A completely mismanaged operation run by people who clearly have no clue how to run a customer-facing business.

We tried The Cabin room at Amazing Escape Room Edison with the kids, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The storyline about stopping a nuclear meltdown from a remote forest cabin was engaging and added a fun sense of urgency.
The set design was impressive—dark, eerie, and realistic enough to make you feel like you really were in an isolated cabin. The puzzles were well thought out, mostly linear but with enough variety to keep everyone engaged. Our favorites were the jigsaw decoder and the laser alignment challenge, which required great teamwork and communication. Some clues were cleverly hidden and required attention to detail, which the kids loved.
Lighting was intentionally dim, which added to the suspense but made a flashlight a must. One or two tech elements were slightly glitchy, but the Game Master was quick to help and kept things moving without spoiling the experience.
This room is best for ages 9 and up—we did it as a family, and everyone had a role to play. We escaped with just a few minutes to spare and had a blast doing it.

Her clues were clever and timely, helping us stay on track while still allowing us to enjoy the thrill of solving the puzzles ourselves. Taylor's energy and encouragement made a big difference, and their knowledge of the game was impressive.
We managed to escape just in time, and Taylor was there to celebrate with us, making the victory feel even sweeter. It's clear that Taylor loves what she does and is committed to ensuring every group has a fantastic experience. We can't thank Taylor enough for her help and enthusiasm.
