I was excited to see a new Starbucks opened up on 76th St with a drive-through so I went to check it out this afternoon. There was no line in the drive-thru so that was a plus. The employees were friendly as well, however, they got 2 out of 3 of my drinks wrong. I ordered 2 Venti peppermint mochas, 1 hot and 1 iced, I was charged extra for the peppermint but neither drink has peppermint and the drinks themselves don’t taste right, my husband and daughter both agreed. I can’t tell if it’s the espresso that’s off or the chocolate but something isn’t right, they both taste very bland and the hot one isn’t very hot. Kinda bummed 😔 however I will say that I called and the person I spoke to was apologetic and took my name down and said I can come back for replacement drinks so I appreciate that. The girl taking my order was incredibly rude and it seemed like she felt as though I was taking too long to order; I could hear her sighing dramatically and she kept saying “Anything else?” with a cold and mean tone after every item I ordered. I didn’t know the name of the drink my granddaughter likes, so I asked if she could help me figure it out, and explained that it’s something like an iced tea with peach flavor. She rudely cut me off and said “Iced peach green tea lemonade?” But in a condescending tone like I was stupid. I asked for her name and it is Natalie. I get off work a bit later and she spends an hr or less everyday here after school doing some light studying and staying warm while waiting for me. I’ve spent hundreds of dollars at this specific location for her while she waits. Now I don’t have coffee money for her everyday but I do a good amount of the days. She was turned away and asked to leave since she wasn’t a paying customer specifically today. I will never spend another dollar here while they decided to uphold a pay or leave policy.
