Brumley's Restaurant and Lounge — Restaurant in Greeneville

My husband and I ate brunch at Brumley's several years ago and talked about coming back. When a dear friend was visiting from California, we decided to impress him by making reservations at Brumley's. This beautiful restaurant is inside the very elegant General Morgan Inn. I ordered the Wagu filet, my husband had the roasted chicken, and our friend had the root vegetable lasagna. We all tasted each other's entrees and really had a hard time deciding what tasted best since everything was scrumptious. The zucchini au gratin that came with my steak was something I could easily eat every single day - there was a hint of nutmeg that took it over the tip. My husband declared his chicken the best chicken he has ever had and after tasting it, I would have to agree. Service was very good. Sat at the Bar not busy our bartender was new and was getting on the job training. Ordered the Ribeye and it was delicious, it would have been better with a drink other than water I ordered an IPA that was recommended by the experienced bartender that was training the other bartender but never received it. At no time during or after our meal did anyone ask us if we needed anything etc. No plates for the bread while we waited for our meal. I have lived in Greene County for 15 years. I'd never taken the opportunity to visit Brumley's in the General Morgan Inn. The lunch buffet by Angie's Catering was delicious. Friday lunch was chopped steak w/onion gravy, chicken and dumplins, mashed potatoes, corn, and green beans as the sides. A garden salad was offered with 3 different dressings. There were two desserts also, butterscotch pie, and apple caramel cake. Christy kept my tea refilled and my empty plates removed from the table.
