Big Kahuna Cheeses Steak: Jersey Mike's was founded back in 1956 as a family run storefront. The original location was on the scenic Jersey Shore. Jumping to 1975, a 17-year-old employee named Peter purchased the shop with a loan from his football coach (also a local banker). Since then, Peter has expanded to more than 2,800 locations and is still the CEO. Long story short, I almost always go with a cheese steak whenever I go to a sub shop. Jersey Mike's offers a few different cheese steak options, but I went with the Big Kahuna. The term comes from the Hawaiian word kahuna, which means "priest" or "healer". Big Kahuna is typically used today as an informal idiom that refers to the most important thing or person in a group, like the boss (or in this case, boss of the subs). The Big Kahuna sub comes with grilled onions, peppers, mushrooms, jalapenos, and extra white American cheese. Jalapenos are a love it or hate it topping. I side with the haters, so I ordered my sub without them. My sub had some weight to it and was also bursting with the amount of filing. The savory slices of steak, heaps of peppers/onions, and mound of melty white American cheese dominated the sandwich with the mushrooms being much less prevalent. I'm a true Wisconsinite in the sense that I can never have enough cheese and add it to many of the foods I eat. That being said, I was satisfied with the amount of cheese on this delicious sub. The miniscule amount of mushrooms aside, the Big Kahuna is Doughboy approved. Doughboy_Food_Reviews

First off I used to be a very Avid supporter for Jersey Mike's. I know that sounds stupid but in an economy where everybody else was skimping on their portions this place was not. That's something I could definitely get behind. Today, however , was an experience that will leave a poor taste in my mouth for a long time. I hadn't been to this location in about a month and decided to treat myself. I went in and ordered my normal the club substitute ham for salami. I was then informed that I was going to have to be charged for ""extra meat"" because I wanted salami instead of ham........ Now I wasn't getting ham and salami, I just wanted salami instead of ham. Almost every single other place I've been to has never charged me for that cousins, nice, subway etc.. I said okay whatever they proceeded to make my sandwich and gave me the most scant amount of meat I have ever seen on a sandwich and I'm even comparing that to subway. What a disappointment not only did I get charged for extra meat that I didn't even physically get, I only got a sneeze worth of turkey and salami. To make the sandwich even doable I had to go to the store and get my own turkey. I really spoke highly of Jersey Mike's because of their decent portions but now I definitely feel like I have pie in my face. 22.00 for no extra meat, nothing like being price gouged and disappointed. You have completely and utterly lost a customer!!!

This is a great place. Before I even get started about the food. The staff is amazing. Very knowledgeable. This was my first time ever here. Everything is so fresh and tasty. Prices are fair especially with the quality of food. They have a slicer and slice all meat and cheese as needed. Smells great in here. I would recommend to all my friends and family or strangers. I use to be a cousin subs kinda guy. But not any more. I'm a jersey Mike's kinda a guy now.

Heard so many good things from a co worker about how Jersey Mikes subs were the bomb. I came in guy behind counter said hello i said hows it going he coughed n said hello can i help u like some stranger walked in his house so i said hello loudly back like he was hearing impaired to make sure he heard me. I ordered my sub he starts making my sandwich he pulls out this raw par baked looking piece of bread ive been a baker for 21yrs it was raw i asked if he had a darker one he said they are all like that ok he cuts fresh cold cuts ok thats nice than he piled lettuce on it like ive never saw before (when i left i threw most of it out.) He put two tiny end cuts from tomato a hand full of onion (also most of which i tossed) pours the oil n balsamic all over it and counter with all ingredients that didnt make it on sub. Than puts sub on paper n proceeds to pick n sort all lettuce and onion from eachother n put it back in bins. Dude it had oil on it and came in contact with meat thats a no no cross contamination. Checked out I took sub tossed hefty amount of lettuce n onion out rewrapped it n left took bite in car yep i cant eat this how it is bread was so gummy it stuck to my teeth raw dough went to store bought new sub bun reassembled sandwich it tasted good but i coulda made my own sandwich without that running around. I might try a Jersey Mikes again but not this...
