I am very sad to write that after literally years and years of patronage we had a bad experience with service at the bar. My husband and I stopped in for dinner and sat at the bar as we always do. We have always been greeted with a smile and have always received excellent service. Our favorite bartender is Jenn but unfortunately she was not there that night. I do not drink beer, wine is my drink of choice. A bartender we have not met before greeted us. I ordered my wine, although she opened a new bottle it was starting to turn. I have had that happen at Brass Tap before because of the way they store their wine. Even an unopened bottle can go bad if it's stored in a warm place. I asked her to open a new bottle for me and she snapped at me, it is a new bottle. I tried to explain to her that I've had that happen before, she then said, in a snotty tone, we are not a wine bar, then poured another glass for me from the same bottle. It was definitely turning and she snapped, well I don't know what that means. She returned a few minutes later and asked, do you want food? I did say, we want you to drop the attitude. We ordered an appetizer, pretzels. We had to ask for silverware. We ordered dinner. To the left of us, also at the bar were 3 guys who she obviously knew. They got a lot of attention from her. The salad I ordered came out without my husband's sandwich. She plopped it down in from of me, didn't ask if I needed anything, salt and pepper would have been nice, and ignored my wine glass pushed to the end of the bar which tells, I would like another. (Of course I intended to switch what kind.) We sat there waiting for my husband's food which came out a good 5 minutes later. During this time the bartender was talking to her friends with her back to us. When my husband's food finally came out it was also plopped down in front of him. We waited to get her attention away from those boys when we finally just asked to see the manager. He came out also with an attitude. I tried to explain to him how she had an attitude. He wasn't having it. He too snapped back about the wine saying, we are not a wine bar. That's not the point. He did not want to hear anything we had to say. Then one of the boyfriend's decided he had to get in on it going as far as calling me stupid and a Karen. I told him he wasn't involved and I wasn't going to sit and be insulted by him. The manager told the guy, oh no, I appreciate your help. What???? We just said give us our check, and some boxes. We were given 2 boxes for our entries. We had half of our pretzels left and were not offered a box for those. We had to get up and go find another server to ask her to process our cc as this bartender and the manager had disappeared. We paid and left. This is the only time in the years we have been going there that we had such a bad experience. There was no reason for the bartender or the manager to act the way they did. Has your business gotten so big that you can afford to alienate good customers by having bad attitudes? Over the years we have had family dinners there, celebrations there, have gone to karaoke many times and have always enjoyed Brass Tap. Now I can honestly say it will be a long time before we venture back in. Neither the bartender or the manager would give their names. She had long blonde hair which was not pulled back. He was a punk. I have been in the restaurant business for 50 years and have worked in very aspect of the business from the bottom to the top. I do not go into a place looking for trouble or something to complain about. Several employees at Brass Tap recognize us as good customers who tip well and stop and say hi. Even the manager said he had seen us in there before but he still felt the need to dismiss our complaints without concern. Don't let this become the norm for Brass Tap. There are so many other restaurants to choose from and for us to choose Brass Tap as often as we do says something. Like I said at the start, I am sad that we were treated this way as we no longer feel like we want to patronize...
Read moreA modern take on a classic home town sports bar. Seat yourself and enjoy the 15+ large screen TV's with a variety of channels: golf, basketball, hockey, and of course football. Larger than life selection of craft brews available on tap and in bottles, no nonsense drink menu with both percentages and price clearly indicated. If you aren't sure what to pick, your waiter/waitress and bartender can make a recommendation. They've a wide variety from ales and IPA's to fruity or stout selections. Their food menu is equally diverse but with classic pub fare like burgers, friday fish fry, and of course cheese curds. Not quite a budget stop, but the prices aren't too over the top and the quality is definitely worth the cost. I enjoyed a Founders Rubaeus for $5, a delightful raspberry style beer. My Milwaukee Pretzel appetizer with beer cheese was fantastic at $8, with a generous serving of pretzel pieces and delicious warm cheese to dip it in. Courteous staff mingle with friendly patrons and upbeat but not overbearing music for a fun atmosphere whether you're here to watch the game, connect with friends, or dine alone. Will definitely be bookmarking this pub for the next time I want to breathe some life...
Read moreStopped in for the first time lastnight and the first thing I noticed was the fact you have this MASSIVE bar with and only ONE bartender. Watched her play with a mat on the floor for 6-7 minutes before even coming over to us. Then when she did no smile, no hi, hello it was here you go and threw some menus down on the counter she comes back we ask her about food specials all she said was its sliders beef or chicken. Okay so how much are they how many do you get.? Then we asked about drink specials, she says I think we've got a few beers that are like 3 dollars right now. Okay that narrows it down thanks. Not to mention all the other staff I saw looked like they absolutely hated their jobs. No one was smiling even a little bit..we order our shots and then proceeded to wait about 10 minutes until she came back to pay for them that only being after she went to mess with that same mat on the floor for some reason. Almost as if she was avoiding having to work or interact with the customers. Bottom line being I wasn't impressed at all....
