CLUTCH Coffee Bar — Restaurant in Greensboro

Yesterday was my first visit to Greensboro's Clutch Coffee Bar, and I was totally impressed! Despite being a drive-thru-only operation (similar to a bank drive-thru), the service was incredibly enjoyable and personalized. Even with the long line, they are very effective since they take your order outside while you are waiting, so your drink is ready by the time you reach the window!

I had a medium Clutch Energy with strawberry and white chocolate, and it was delicious. The $6–$8 price range was well worth it, especially considering how quick and easy the service was. I felt like I was talking to friends the entire time because the staff was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the menu. They even helped me choose my drink.

They have fun music playing, the atmosphere is lively and friendly, and the employees are obviously passionate about what they do. Additionally, I saw that they had a rewards program, an easy-to-use app, and weekly promotions that make it simple to get points for a complimentary drink. Additionally, the environment they create in person is perfectly reflected in their social media presence, particularly on TikTok.

I finally picked up drinks at the Greensboro drive-in location on my way through for work. Not expecting what I would find, there was a cute drive thru you could pull up and see the entire menu laid out for you. A nice girl came out with a tablet to help me with my order which was nice because I didn’t know where to start. I’d never been here before. So I was directed to their more popular coffees and I chose the Irish Dream. Hubby really wanted a shake so I got chocolate for him. Pulling up to the pick up window, I was unexpectedly greeted and thanked by a team of the most lively, enthusiastic employees who not only made me feel incredibly welcomed but special as well. They left me a note saying, “We love you!” on the cup. Attached a photo of my melted chocolate shake and warm coffee after having to stop to fill gas and drive 30 minutes home to Winston. Great experience nonetheless and my Irish Dream was delicious! And my hubby loved his chocolate shake. It was a very rich flavor for looking icy in appearance. I would definitely come back and recommend...

Turning a former bank branch into a coffee shop is bound to raise a few eyebrows, but Clutch has all the makings of an instant hit. For starters, the signature coffees turn what are often seasonal items (Irish cream or Smores lattes) elsewhere into regular features. My wife and I opted for a Cloud 9 (a coconut mocha) and a Campfire (Smores with extra espresso), and we were both satisfied. Neither drink was cloyingly sweet. Even better, Clutch was running a “first drink free” promotion at the time of our visit though if it has still lapsed, you’ll find the prices quite reasonable.

Customer service was also on-point. Clutch was set up for drive-through ordering only at the time of our visit, and their system is fast and efficient. A staff member took our order in the parking lot, directed us to a window, and we had coffee in hand in a matter of minutes.
