This place was amazing for sure. I got the fried tofu and the spicy oil ramen with pork belly and everything was just how I wanted it! The server was very friendly and I was happy to see the servers being able to chat with each other and act like human beings in their down time. Too many places nowadays expect employees to only act like service drones. Anyways, the food was great. The tofu was delightfully crisp and piping hot fresh from the fryer. The pork belly was plain which I wanted to be displeased by, but the flavor of the pork belly was able to shine from the simplicity. It was crisp, the fat was melting and buttery which highlighted the sweet savoriness of the pork belly meat. The egg was perfectly jammy and had a rich soy sauce taste. The broth was a lil unsalted for my tastes but it was a rich and creamy so I can tell a lot of care went into it. The prices are... you get what you pay for, I'd say. It costs a bit because it's good, homemade stuff. Not the kinda cost I can afford on a frequent basis but definitely a place you oughta treat yourself to sometimes.

Did the review a year ago. Had to visit Greensboro again for hubby's business trip. It was very disappointing this time due to the stir fry Seafood Udon. When the server brought the dish to us, it was completely plain with no visible seafood. Since it's my husband's go to dish back in Atlanta when it comes to good Japanese food, I was in shock for him and start digging around thinking maybe some seafood was at the bottom. Unfortunately, the only seafood was about 3 tiny pieces of scallops, some fish cakes and imitation crab meats. I tried to confirm with the server and she said that's how they fix the Seafood Udon. Hubby did not want to wait to switch out to another dish - was thankful the server offered to see if we want to switch to something else but we ended up to sticking to what we ordered. Both the Udon and Ramen are very salty. The ramen is decent but missing authentic ingredients such as bamboo and black fungus. The sushi is the best part with very little rice and mainly fresh ingredients and good quality - we ordered the avocado with Eel as well as fresh salmon with avocado rolls. We will NOT go for any of the noodle dishes IF we ever visit again (most likely not). But to be fair, if you like sushi, it is will worth it to order them.

Black Garlic ramen- with shrimp. If you're a fan of noodles, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by an inviting atmosphere that perfectly sets the tone for the meal ahead. The menu is a ramen lover’s dream, with a wide variety of options, each one more tempting than the last. Everything is perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of chew and texture. Whether you opt for the rich, savory broth-based dishes or dumplings each bite is an explosion of flavor. The broth is clearly made with care, rich and deeply satisfying, with just the right balance of spices and umami. The toppings—tender meats, fresh vegetables, and herbs—are generous and complement the noodles in every dish. The portions are hearty, ensuring you leave full and satisfied, but not overly stuffed. Service is attentive and friendly, always with a smile, and they’re happy to offer recommendations or adjust dishes to your preferences. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates great food, exceptional flavors, and a welcoming vibe!

I came upon this ramen and sushi restaurant during my short stay in Greensboro. I walked in and was greeted by a very nice hostess. My first impression of the decor was that the place was quite modern and it was relatively bright. I ordered the Tonkotsu ramen (pork broth) and I enjoyed it immensely!! I basically finished the whole bowl even the soup. The cha shiu (fatty pork slices) were very good. I could taste the honey glaze on them and it had the right amount of fat to meat ratio. The noodles were just the right amount. At a price of $17 per bowl I feel that this bowl of ramen is more on the pricey side compared to ramen places in Chicago, NYC, or Dallas, but still worth its price. I then finished off with an order of the Alaska Roll. It is just fresh salmon and avocado. The amount of salmon and avocado was proportional to the roll and the ingredients were fresh. Overall this place is as advertised 5 star in taste and quality. I look forward to coming back to try the other items! Highly recommended!

Long overdue review, I believe we visited as it was newly grand opened. We were shooting for an awkward time to eat that was too late for lunch but too early for dinner. Fortunately, they were open. It was quiet, spacious and clean and so we grabbed a booth for our family of 4. The menu offered a wide variety of things to choose from, but for our family, we settled with some tonkatsu ramen, edamame, dumplings in spicy oil, shumai, and some stir fry noodles. Service was very friendly, especially considering we had two very young kids with us. Attentive and accommodating. The kids enjoyed the edameme and shumai. My husband was impressed with the ramen, especially the way the pork was cooked. I thought it was good as well, although I prefer the two-day prep that goes into the chashu pork of Qinji Hawaiian BBQ & Ramen tonkatsu. Overall, the restaurant offers a rounded selection of offerings I felt were done well. Sometimes there are many things to choose from but they're hit and miss. Didn't get that sense here.

We live pretty close to Hokkaido, so we've had our eye on the building as it was being converting from the old Villa Rosa Italian place to something new. When we realized it was going to be a sushi place, we suddenly got REALLY interested in figuring out when they'd be changing the sign from "coming soon" to "opening soon." We went tonight to check them out during the soft open (Grand Opening is Aug 18th) and it was WONDERFUL. We started with the pork gyoza and agedashi tofu. The dumplings had a perfect texture- soft on one side and crispy on the other- and the tofu was piping hot, crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. We all ordered sushi (seven rolls altogether) and my husband got an order of the dan dan noodles. The sushi came on a boat (MUCH to the delight of our kids) and was fantastic. Fresh and delicious. The dan dan noodles had homemade pork belly with an absolutely divine flavor. We are stoked that this restaurant is so close to our house- we will absolutely be regulars there!
