I gave it one star because the food we able to get wasn't awful. Almost everything else was. The new setup is ridiculous. I assume with the brand new building, they are trying to improve efficiency. Let's start there. There is no room for the inevitable wrap around line that always happens here. The line was out the door, which is normal and not an issue. If you eat here you expect that. However, the new set up does not allow an orderly efficient wrap around line. It was chaos. Once you pay, you have to wait to be seated, which would be helpful if done correctly. The old building was always packed as well and it could be a pain on the rear finding a place to sit, but they managed to do this in way that once again made it inefficient. There were 3 people helping to seat people. One being the manager. The young boy at the front of the line had a radio and he was asking customers how many and relay it back to the manager on one other person. All 3 were seating people. He had us (a party of 2) waiting on a table that was about to be cleaned. He told the manager this and he even showed her the table. She took the party of 4 behind us to a table and came back. She asked if he had given us the table yet. We said he came back and said it was almost ready. She took the next party of 2 behind us and sat them at the table we were waiting on. We waited again as people behind is in line were taken to tables. He came back and said my manager have your table away. I said we saw that. Mind you only 1 minute or so had passed since he told her which table we were waiting on and she took another party to our table. We were finally given a table 5 minutes later after several other customers behind us were seated. We let it go and went to get our plates. The went up on the price again, which I would not have a problem with if there was more of a selection. They have taken a lot of things off the buffet that were there before. The smaller buffet area also makes it difficult to move around. You bump into people and the tins that hold the food in warmers are smaller. After 2 people take from the warmer it is empty. The desert are is so small that it is clogged up. What really pissed me off, was we witnessed a food service person take a container of banana pudding that was half gone out of the cold storage area on the server and take a bowl of whipped cream slap it into the container where the banana pudding was missing stir it around and sprinkle some wafers on top and put it back on the serving area for customers. No actual banana pudding or banana's even. I waited my turn and got a scoop on the side I saw her put just whipped cream and sure enough. It was whipped cream and vanilla wafers only. There were kids 5 or 6 running around getting food and desserts without an adult. It was not a pleasant experience. It was not worth the...
Read moreIt was quite lovely love the new decorations and way you set up. this was my husband and my first time going there since the rebuilding. We used to go many many many years ago and my husband had a very bad experience he found glass in his salad. After that incident we never win again we would always go to Lawndale Drive Golden Corral. We heard about the Wendover chain closing, then we heard about it being torn down and rebuilt. But because of his last experience he still has strong reservations about going to Wendover location! So Sunday he just decided after evening program that we attended that we would go and we were both very pleased!! "The service, the servitude of most of the staff it was absolutely wonderful". If I had any recommendations it would be about the front,The cashier!!! when your paying the young lady that was taking the payment never asked ; Was this our first time there, Are you familiar with the New building or anything of that type of matter. You have been there for quite some time but this does not mean that your employees are to assume the everyone that lives in Greensboro outside of Greensboro or in the Triad area has been to the new Golden Corral rebuild on Wendover. It would have been nice for someone to inform us of the changes that has been placed in effect concerning which direction to go what's routine or directions that we have to follow concerning how it was set up! Instead of me having to ask all the questions which direction will we to go because the front end have people checking out food to go and employees purchasing items at the same time as we're being charged 2 dine in!! Then we had to X four tables being used because there was quite a few tables that had never been cleaned he didn't know if the people were still eating had left, we didn't know where to get the plates and silverware but the staff was very friendly to show us which tables are available they quickly started cleaning the tables and making sure we were seated and showed us which way to go in to get the plates and how everything was set up and we had a lovely time!!!! We would definitely consider going here to eat again maybe on earlier...
Read moreMy husband and I had an early dinner at the 4404 Landview Drive, Greensboro, NC, location on Friday, September 22, 2023, around 3:30pm.
We were quite surprised to see how the interior had changed and had been remodeled.
In the past, customers prepared their own drinks before placing their orders with the cashier. Now, once you seat yourself, your server will bring your drinks to your table.
The gentleman at the register was very jovial and friendly. Another change from the past is that the cashier now gives customers their silverware which are in individual paper sleeves. This differs from how things were in the past because all the silverware used to be in plastic cylindrical baskets in which the customers picked through to get their own silverware.
Another noteworthy difference is that now customers are given a plastic disposable glove to use when they are using the serving utensils to place food onto their plates.
One improvement that could be made is that the salad dressing spoon handles need to be better labeled. After I prepared my salad, I looked for Ranch dressing, yet the print on all but one spoon handle was worn off. The only spoon handle that was clearly labeled was the bleu cheese spoon. Perhaps it’s not as popular as the other dressings, therefore the printing on the handle hasn’t worn off yet. I chose a dressing that I thought looked like Ranch dressing, however, upon eating the salad, I realized it wasn’t Ranch, but a sweeter dressing instead. Perhaps this was a fat-free Ranch dressing, but without being able to identify each individual dressing, it was difficult to know which dressing to choose.
Our server was Desiree. She was very helpful and friendly and filled our drinks when needed. She also made sure our table was clean and wiped down as we sat down at our table.
Our food was good and well-prepared. We look forward to future meals at this...
