I would like to warn people like me who were or potentially could be seduced by all the pretty colors and progressive styles of ROOMS TO GO: STEP AWAY FROM THE SHOWROOM! DO NOT DRINK THE RTG KOOL AID!!! Ever since I graduated from college, I dreamed of furnishing my house with the beautiful colors and modern styles of RTG. They were like "Garanimals" (if you were born after 1985, they were cute kid's clothes you could pair by matching the animal tags together đ), but with furniture. Well, I waited nearly 25 years, but last year (April, 2023) I finally had my chance. I went crazy! Tiffany Blue chairs with the kitchen table, Tiffany Blue living room set, and the most beautiful white, beachy-looking bedroom suit. Wow! So pretty! Well, the guys they sent to set the up the bedroom suit weren't exactly the most conscientious.....they left without even attaching the drawer pulls, some drawer pulls were broken, and I noticed that the legs on the bottom of our platform frame weren't even touching the ground and it just didn't seem very stable. I called, got passed around, and finally got an appointment for a guy to come "look" at it..... I had to wait 6 weeks for an appointment, and the only available one was like between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM so I had to take the day off. When the guy came, he said it was our fault for having hardwood floors, and all we had to do was put a yoga mat under the dangling legs. Really? We spend over $11,000 furnishing our home at this store and we are told to rig up some makeshift hack ourselves to fix it?! I was furious and shocked, but he said that nothing was wrong on their end. So my husband put several yoga mats under the dangling legs, having to adjust them and move them about several times a week because the bed never felt like it was sound, but they told us they would do nothing to help, so we didn't know what else to do. I had just gone through another "trial" with them just trying to get them to replace a kitchen table chair that had a crack in one of the legs when we got it. They accused me of lying about it, but after a couple of months, we finally scored a new chair. Fast forward 15 months, last week, we were talking to our daughter on the phone when suddenly the bed literally collapsed beneath us, pinning my neck under the headboard and my legs were pinned in the air under the mattress and my husband landed "quesadilla style" on his side of the "former bed." It took us a good 15 minutes to climb out of the rubble. He called RTG the next afternoon and they told him that they would do nothing because the bed was out of warranty, even though we called originally when it was under warranty, but their "inspector" told us that they would do nothing then either, so we were screwed both within the "warranty" window," and again outside of the alleged "warranty window". Now we are sleeping on the couch until we get a resolution. If this saves one person from being seduced by RTG as I was , it was time well spent. To be...
Read moreHad Great experience with Gus. He was helpful when needed yet gave me space to breathe and look around to try out other options. I came in with one thing in mind and left with something completely different. I was certainly glad I decided to go in person instead of just ordering off of the sales site from the internet. You then have the chance to sit down and test out how things are going to feel. Comfortable or not. If they hold up will be another thing thatâs why Iâm going to update this review at a later date and let you know how it goes. They certainly have plenty of options but not everything feels comfortable to me. Whatâs comfortable for one person is not always going to be the case for another. I guess thatâs why they have so much to choose from. The other thing I donât appreciate is that the sales paper and site will give you a price that has a total with a monthly payment amount but by the time you add tax , shipping, and protection package you are way over your budget price so expect to pay a lot more than you think. They have plenty of handicapped parking spaces and regular parking as well. Easy access and easy access back to Wendover. If you do get the protection plan itâs supposed to cover rips, tears, stains, spills and breaks for 3 years plus a lifetime supply of cleaning fluid for the upholstery. Fingers crossed đ€. Update. Itâs been a couple of years, and I have received nothing but positive feedback from the furniture I chose to redo my living room with. The only issue I have is the sleeper sofa. I upgraded the mattress to the memory gel mattress for more comfort but it still wasnât comfortable enough for my guests. So I purchased a extra thick mattress topper. This is large enough for a queen size mattress and sleeps two adults easily. The chair, sofa and loveseat are all comfortable and...
Read moreOn Tuesday 04/15/2025, my family and I visited the Rooms To Go location in Greensboro around 7:25 PM with the intention of purchasing a king bed set. We were in the process of finalizing our selectionâa high-end set priced at approximately $3,000âwhen we encountered what we felt was poor and unprofessional customer service from a staff member, who appeared to be either a manager or a representative. He was a bald, white male who seemed visibly impatient, repeatedly making dismissive facial expressions and giving the impression that we were being rushed, despite the fact that we were actively making a significant purchase.
My family and I were all dressed appropriately and respectfully, and we were engaging in our purchase with full seriousness. It was confusing and disappointing to feel as though we were being judged or treated unfairly during what should have been a positive shopping experience.
Additionally, I approached another employee to inquire about the original price of a particular living room set. Instead of providing a helpful response, the employee simply replied, âThatâs not on sale,â in a tone that felt dismissiveâas though I couldnât afford it. I found this not only unhelpful but also inappropriate and unprofessional.
Due to the overall atmosphere and the way we were treated, I ultimately decided to leave and return another time. However, I feel itâs important to express my concern regarding the poor customer service we experienced, not just from the sales associate, but also from what appeared to be the management team. As a customer prepared to make a substantial purchase, I expected a far more respectful and welcoming environment.
I hope this feedback is taken seriously and addressed appropriately, as no customer should feel unwelcome or dismissed when choosing to do business with...
