Literally the worst experience I had going to a club. I turned 21 this past year and went to limelight with my friends in greensboro nc. mind you I am from SC so our IDs are not the same. Showed the bouncer my ID he bent it and was trying to scrap something from my ID that was never there!!! gave it to another one and proceeded to do the same thing. As all South Carolinians know all our bars have scanners. Limelight does not I told them to scan it. The bouncer even told my friends I know what south carolina IDs look⦠well clearly he didnāt. He even asked me what high school I went which i told him even showed him my two COLLEGE IDS. If he had knowledge would know that school IDs DO NOT HAVE DOB. Even asked do I have another ID, like what other ID am I supposed to have?!?! Both of the male bouncers that worked march 5th around 1:20 AM kept cutting me off every time I wanted to speak had attitudes and proceeded to say I had attitude. My friend even told them well donāt you see why an attitude is here right now he couldnāt even ask the question. One of the bouncer even tried to walk up in my face HOW UNPROFESSIONAL which I told him and got mad because he kept saying I had attitude and told him if thatās the only thing then he could say about the situation about a young black female that is underline racial profiling he got mad and rolled his eyes. I Could not even talk to some in charge. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS CLUB TO ANYONE WITH AN OUT OF STATE ID ESPECIALLY THEY DONT...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt's pretty okay if your looking for a night out in Greensboro. The doormen/bouncers are all super kind along with the rest of the staff but the music tonight (6/25) was eh. It wasn't music you could dance to; it was just head bopping music with an occasional * throwing song here or there (the hype man next to the DJ was amazing though). Ill be coming back for latin night for sure because I like going to clubs and dancing not standing around and smelling a mix of weed, vape, and spilled alcohol.
On occasion they do offer free cover if you follow their eventbrite page and socials. Any other night I think is $10-$15 but personally, this isn't a club I'd pay to get in.
I believe that theyre under new ownership which is made abundantly obvious by the amount of work thats been put in to the place. It is very easy to tell that the owner cares about the place and wants to make it the hot spot for all of downtown greensboro
I will also say that I've been to limelight several times and NOT ONCE have i seen the bathrooms clean. The floors are always wet, the inside always stinks, etc. There should be someone there manning the restrooms at the very least
Final side note: none of the bottle girls are black even though they play a lot of black music. Just...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI will not support this establishment ever again; I had the worst experience ever tonight. I basically lost $20 at the bar because I was "arguing with the bartender." She said I had to pay for a drink that 1.) was ordered by the gentleman before me, and 2.) I obviously did not order. I insisted on getting my money back, and she flatly said, āno.ā I did not receive my drink nor did I receive my money back, so I essentially paid $20 for bad service. I feel, because I am a young, black man, she (the white bartender) felt threatened and called security over to assist. My request for my $20 to be returned shouldnāt have been an issue considering the fact that, again, I did not receive a drink. Security told me to talk with the GM/Owner. After talking to the GM/Owner to resolve the issue, he basically did nothing about the situation and told me I was out $20 dollars. I was then escorted out of the club and barred from re-entry. I asked him, simply, āwhat did I do wrong in the situation,ā and he couldn't tell me. In the midst of this, the gentleman who ordered the drink before me was walking out. He stated to the GM/Manager that he paid for his drink, despite it being a blatant lie. I guess they needed the money...
