ADHD Review: Pizzeria L'Italiano Is New York Style Pizza! I Should Know Since I'm A New Yorker! And This Establishment's Pizza Made Me Eat Slow For The First Time In My Life. IT WAS THAT GOOD!!!
Long Review: I was up in Greensboro with my mom on my day off of work. I researched some places I could go to and I knew by the time I got to Greensboro I was going to be hungry.
Using Google Maps to map out some places I stumbled upon this establishment while looking up a thrift shop nearby. I read the reviews from previous Google Reviewers and let me just say that this pizzeria has the most delicious pizza I have ever tasted outside of New York.
The crust is traditional thin New York Italy style and the cheese is that kind of cheese that you only find at high end New York pizzeria's. The slices are traditional New York City Little Italy Big and it reminded me of my birthplace up in the north east.
Now for the real kicker. When I took my first bite of a simple cheese slice this place had I actually ate my 2 slices slow. Now for those of you who don't know me I'm a very fast eater. I never ate slow in my life. Well that changed at this place. My mom noticed that I ate slow for the first time in her life and let me say that she had a smile on her face that will never be duplicated at all.
In essence what I came out of from this pizza experience was a taste of home, a feeling and emotion that can never be duplicated from my mother and 2 cheese pizza slices.
So that's my detailed review on this small and very well run establishment. But in case you didn't get the details of this review there is an ADHD Version up...
Read moreI was sorely disappointed in this place tonight! It was family night out with my 8 year old grandson visiting from out of town and we wanted to show him a great Greensboro time! We took in most of the Greensboro Grasshoppers' game and ended up at this place my daughter kept bragging about to no end. "Best pizza place in Greensboro! Nobody even comes close...even in New York!" WRONG...flat out wrong. The pizza was over cooked/dry and the ingredients (particularly the ground beef) was horrible and over aged by my reckoning. The 'Italian sausage' tasted like uncured pepperoni that was parboiled. Finally, the order of wings we had was so over cooked that they were inedible. (We didn't know this until we got home...part of the order was to-go.) To add insult to injury, the two large pizzas, one order of wings, and two fountain drinks(which were great I might add...best thing we had) cost me a total of $71.00 and change!!! Needless to say they will never see me or my money again. They are listed on the Web as $ compared to $$ or $$$ or $$$$. Sorry, the place is way over priced for what you get. I've never give this kind of review in my life...it pains me to do so, but this experience was unbelievable. I felt ripped off. Frankly, I have paid a lot of money for a meal when it was truly warranted...happy to do it. This time was just a big letdown. I hope the folks responsible for this place takes this to heart. I don't like to...
Read moreTHE WHITE PIZZA was the best white pizza I've had down south! We're from NY and I have had yet to have a true white pizza, until now! The crust was delicious, albeit thin, it had great flavor. It was buttery and crisp with a delicious olive oil profile. The bruschetta was almost perfect. I did not like the greens just tossed on top, as if an after thought. Despite that I'd order it again and again and just pick it off. Haha. The dressing on it, with the crisp and fresh tomatoes made it a sure fire winner! The tiramisu was also AMAZING. It had the spot on flavor and texture of a real Italian dessert. My grandma is Italian and we grew up eating real Italian dinners, and this small and unassuming pizzeria hit the nail on the head. Lucky for us it is only ten minutes from us and will be a contender for biweekly pizza take outs! I'd been waiting three years to find a pizzeria this good. The staff was also great. They showed my 4 year the art of the pizza making, and flipping. They also were very gracious and treated her to a piece of pizza, on the house. According to my 4 year old, they have "the best pizza EVER". Can't wait to go back and try more off of the menu. Even the set up and layout of the pizzeria had a very real NY feel and vibe. It reminded me of my...
